Error:selected shard is not available
Error:selected shard is not available
I'm getting this when I try to click 'accept' for the EULA. I was playing just a few hours ago fine from a different location (work). It lets me login, runs the patcher, says the server is Online, but I can't get past the EULA. Am I the only one having connection troubles?

Re: Error:selected shard is not available
The servers are undergoing a bit of maintanance. They won't be down for very long.
Re: Error:selected shard is not available
I'm having the exact same issues... I can't get past the EULA because of a missing "shard". You're not alone.
What's the timeline for the repair?

Re: Error:selected shard is not available
Same here. I'm a bit miffed that there is a way to check server status...THAT NEVER SHOWS THE SERVER STATUS ! Just another bug I guess. At least they don't lie about it like they do when they announce a "patch" or "mini-patch" that changes nothing.

Re: Error:selected shard is not available
Just for info:
Server - can be online or offline.
Shard - can be open or closed.
Login Server - can be on of off.
A Server can have main shards.
The server is the machine on which the game runs.
When the Login Server is on - you can enter you user name and password and have them verified. If it is not others maybe able to contiune playing but new people are unable to login.
When the server is up (as shown on the web site) you can get to the EULA screen. However you may not be able to get any futher if the Shard is closed.
When the server is up and the shard is closed, usually the CSRs etc are testing stability and fixes. However if there has been a patch you will be able to download it.
When the server is down - nothing is available.
When the server is up and the shard is open .... you can play the game.
If for any reason you are unable to enter the game.... use the Klients chat program Nevrax has provided. This is a live chat program where you can find out the status of the server/patch/shard and chat to other players/csr/devs/Nevrax peeps. It is a sure sign the server is down if this chat room is busy.
Hope this explains it simply.
The don't lie and I have never in (10 months) known them to patch/reboot the server for 'no reason' and I have never known them 'lie'. The have made mistakes in patch notes, released info early that has not yet been added or added more changes than listed.
They don't set out to deliberatly decieve thier customers and have a great respect of the player base.
As has been proven in the effort they have put into the game since patch 1.
3 patchs don't just appear they require a huge amount of effort in production/packaging/testing.
