Shield colors?

So I know that armor comes in many colors. And I know that in the skill trees shields count as armor. Yet, when I craft a shield out of all green mats, I still get a beige shield. Also, unlike other armor, there is no color indication in the shield properties.

Can anyone confirm that shields do not take on the color of the mats used to create them? Or, if you know what I'm doing wrong, please let me know.

No, shields dont' take on the color of the mats used to make them, they are like weapons in that respect. However, the higher Quality (not QL) shields do look quite nice, as well as the 'special' ones.
