Free Trial vs EQ2?

Post by dakkon3 »

Anyone else think that its just a bit of a coincidence that Nevrax is rolling out a 14 day free trial on the same day that EQ2 hits the stores? hmmmmmm

I tend to agree, I think they blew a huge opportunity.

No, I seriously doubt that. Looking at the already gone/waiting/playing poll, less than 20% have given up on the game, and the people waiting to see improvements or still playing evenly share the remaining 80+ %.

I feel that, assuming Nevrax makes some positive changes this week probably those who are leaving the game have already left. More than likely the free trial will bring about an influx of new players and when they get to the mainland hopefully things will be in fairly good shape. And things aren't bad as they are for the less than 50 crowd anyway

Then why not just do a complete character wipe and relaunch? After all, if everyone who enjoys playing is going to be <50 anyway, the results will be very similar. And all the high level players would leave in a disgruntled snit, if they hadn't already.

Then everyone gets what they want.

Maybe because a good percentage of those high level players are included in the 80% that are staying? Your suggestion would, IMO, make suicide a sure bet.

I agree with this.. Bringing in new people while the mobs are so hard to kill is not the BEST time to do it.. I can't even imagine how hard it might be to kill some of those simple things that I used to kill when the mobs were easier.

If I came into ryzom now with a new character and with no skills I would get so frustrated with how difficult it is to kill things.

Maybe I am mistaken on this subject but from what I can tell some of the mobs that I used to kill for xp when I was on a new character would be too advanced if I was to try it again.

Firstly, I figured that my dropping the /saracasm tag on my post would keep all but the most slow readers from taking me seriously. Guess I should have made it NEON ORANGE WITH GIGANTIC LETTERS BOUNDING ACROSS THE PAGE.

Secondly, I think you (eschaiva) need to reread the Petition to Nevrax thread. Plenty of high level players, including guild leaders, are planning to bail out by their own admission in this thread.
