What a lvl 18 mob can do to a lvl 140 melee.

EDIT: Took out the details.. the only point i was trying to make, is there is no way in the entire world a lvl 18 Ragus should even remotely be able to land hits on a melee warrior thats 122 lvls over it. Reguarless of what your doing save sitting down.

Thanks for pointing out that i included some dmg from a 2nd fight, my bad.

Thats 6 hits for a total of 212 dmg in the time it took me to turn around and hit it 1 time to kill it. Notice that i dodged it 1 time, and im 122 levels over it. What if i were lvl 50 melee? I feel sorry for you lower lvl people.

Melee seems messed up in some way that I can't pinpoint. It's more than mobs doing a bit more damage. I noticed they did from 5x to 10x more damage on the ATS.
Fighters at best only gain 50 pts every 5 levels if they try to max everything. It shoudn't be required that you max your hp to survive. A level 40 character will have 400 hp at best. Maybe will have 200-300 if they are mages or average type players. Mobs seem to be hitting faster and far outside these ranges.
There seems to be no defense. A level 70 had no better defense than a level 20. Or so it seems.

Other than the damage, all I can say is combat seems to play out too fast. It might have played out a bit too slow under the old system, but this new system just doesn't seem fun.

The text in the doesn't match your description of events.

There were 2 ragus according to the text....
You were stunned...
You were slowed....
You had to equip......
You are wearing light armor...
Several of the hits were to unarmored areas....
You never dodged, it missed.

Should that ragus have attacked in the first place?

That's debatable, but ragus always attacked, before and after the patch, no matter how much you out-leveled them.

All that taken into account, a warrior (especially in armor) at level 18 should be able to have handled one of them just fine, two would be pushing it, as it should be.

So ... as always .. if you dont have a weapon in your hand and are fighting you get hit more for more damage .. and you get stunned/slowed/... more

bring one healer along with you and you're fine...

last night, i gained 2 melee levels in about an hour and 1/2. went from 68 to 70. now i know that's nothing compared to what everyone used to be getting, but it's not horrible.

i was fighting robust raspals for 900, then 850, then 666 xp(kind of an odd drop off at the end there).

when mean kizoars were around we'd smack them up for 1900 xp. vicious kizoars for 3k xp. grunting raspals for 3k xp.

with my lvl 42-47(gained while we were fighting) healer, no chance of losing. he's healing for... 650+ now? robust raspals dealing 120ish, mean kizoars dealing 240ish with 644 crit once every 5-10 mins, viciuos doing 340ish crit for 844 every 5-10 mins, grunting raspal dealing 280ish.

so my HP bar looks like it's freaking out, but i never die.

except for once with a vicious kizoar... died twice and rezzed twice in the same fight... really fun/funny.

solo sucks now, i believe it. i'm sorry for those of you with no in game friends to play with. but for those of you with team mates, it's not that hard.

oh you are right to feel for us... I am a level 45 fighter I was going on the road outside yarkis... when TWO scowling ragus appeared (yes appeared, spawned just beside me) I have 600 hp.. they killed me in 1 second. I died. I couldn't even react.

Level 29 fighter with 540 HP and good gear vs weenie kipee level 20/21 ...

weenie kipee basically keeps you permanently stunned and critical hits you to death. Twice in a row ...

Hmm <sigh> Is this as intended?

(emphasis mine)

Bingo! Combat is way too fast! There is no time to use all of the attacks that the skill system allows us to craft. As a melee I have to spam increase damage, or die. an average fight lasts 10 seconds or less. Very unrewarding, very BORING!

How can a healer help when the MOB damages faster than heals can keep up, plus MOBs within two-thirds of your level keep you permanently stunned until you are dead?
