The fate of the Brawlers guild in Tryker land

Post by xasher »

Last night a fairly large group consisting mostly of the Brawlers guild members in Tryker land made an attempt to make it to other lands thru BB, with horrific results. The guild decided to make the attempt because soon the mobs will be hitting twice as hard and we felt we needed to move now.

I don't know how even the most powerful warriors could even complete the treck thru the zone. The party consisted of 15 seasoned warriors and magic users including 2 Matis....The end result was all of us were trapped in the small pools just yards from the portal we started at...any attempt to get back to the portal and every time we made a push into the zone, we met with disaster. In the end a large number of the group became trapped in a pool barely large enough to fit us all with wolves, uberkippee and other terrible creatures standing at the pools edge grawling and hissing waiting for one of us to move to close to the pools shore. Eventually they picked us off one by one and the expedition failed.

If the game gods don't want the races to intergrate, they have accomplished theyre task. The carnage I witnessed in last nights attempt will haunt my memories for as long as I live and I may just have to pass it on to the next generation.

But the Brawler guild is determined to make it thru....we'll probably make the attempt again this evening.

We shall concur this zone !

Until you can fight your way through, it is better to sneak in small teams with good communication. GL on your trip tonight.

You have to be able to fight your way thru. I make that trip many times a week.

15 people who have never been in that zone is chaos and will usually end in failure if your do not know how to communicate and travel safely.

If you can, get someone with experience raiding in everquest or another similar MMORPG. Raiding in EQ was doing events designed for large groups, working tightly together, where one mistake by one person will cause a complete wipe. Some tips for BB and raiding in general:

Stay TIGHT. As small a group as you can. When you move, try not to spread into a line. Everyone sits at the ready to move and act for the entire 2 hours. If you Have to AFK, autofollow someone and announce it.

Follow walls whenever possible. They greatly reduce the directions mobs can come from. In BB, go south and around the long way instead of trying the middle.

One person is assigned to scout and pull. They'll roam ahead, look for gaps, create gaps by pulling mobs in thinner areas of the aggro herds. They give 'move to me' orders. Everyone else follows when ordered, and when the group stops in a new spot, stays there until ordered to move up/follow again.

Assist only by assisting a tank. Make hotkeys -- Action, Target The Entity's Current Target, type in the name of one of your tanks.

NO AOEs ... bombs, ricochet, spray. AOE heals (hp/sap/stam) are the only exception.

If you can get everyone there to understand the importance of being mindful of things like this, and get them all to sit at the ready and not interfere with the raid's operation, you'll make it after a few tries np :) It only gets easier the more you go at it. I do BB a lot with different guilds with single groups.

You might be able to pay the Praetorians a small (*cough*large*cough*) fee to escort you. :)

If you are interested, alot of us are pushing through tonight in a big trek from Matis. There will be several guilds and we'll simply just kill everything in the way.

Is there a set time you'll be going? If it's ok I'll come as someone else (she's a fyros who has matis but needs tryker). If she can play tonight, I'll come as myself.

Elf has a point. He was present on a group that made it through BB in eight minutes.

He might actually know what he is talking about.
