More from the ATS server about Patch 1

Post by vguerin »

Normally I would post it all here mirroring our site but some things require pictures to enhance the discussion and they removed our ability to do that here. Wednesday will not be a great day in Atys IMHO... I did attempt to find what I could and be honest and fair... Though I am fairly discusted with most things, there have been some long needed fixes which is more important than any additions.

My Review of Patch 1 on Atys.

Good abstract of the harvesting changes without the usual "the end is near" undertone.

The IMO most serious problem is that gentle is (still) meaningless. And the mat lvl is rising somewhat too slow during extraction.

You need more SP than before, but you can rise foraging in 5 different branches. Even if you do only 2 of them extensivly you should have enough SP. Also, you do not really need *all* mat type prospection skills - I think the number of times you'll search for cutey or smart shells will be rather limited.

Thank you for that, it is very informative, but also very unsettling. :-(

Thanks for your insights DT. I was, and still am, concerned about the consequences of the patch having read the release notes. I believe the devs have discovered that there are many who have (by whaterver means) levelled too quickly. As a result, they and all others, will have to submit to a slow down in the game. This is evident from the earlier than expected release of Patch 1. However, such a slow down could very well lead to the detriment of the game. I wonder how long players will put up with their inablility to level or to move to other continents or to be supplied with decent weapons or indeed to even clothe themselves.

Interesting read. Although as stated it does look a bit daunting, but at the same time I'm keen to try a lot of these things for myself.

In all fairness, some of it will help me (I think) such as the reworked forage credit bricks. Still seems a bit odd to have removed the -32 credit, but at higher levels (above credit -64) I think it might be better.

Have to wait and see...

Of course, for Shrike there can never be enough nerfing of forage.

Everyone but shrike with his insane spamming of his opinion can see the damage being done. Very good review by Doubletap, his summary is in concurrance with what every other dedicated forager is saying.

This is a big disappointment Nevrax. Shame that this is what you want to do to foraging. Please listen to some of the serious forager suggestions for improvement.

I don't know if any dedicated foragers will be able to get past this next patch. Nevrax, at what will it take for you to start listening to the forager players while there are still dedicated foragers left?

"It has gone absolutely insane as the mode changes on it's own if you get Mode 1 and the random "something went wrong and you spoiled""

That's probably the worst part there. We can change the source mode now, but on Wendesday, we can't, and it'll change for us. There's going to be a lot of aborted pulls.

I'm hoping this particular thing is a bug. The rest, I think I can deal with.

At this points, its mute, its best to just wait until its in place then decide how to handle things.
