BUG: Character Naming (Please Fix)

Since last patch, if a character is deleated a new one cannot be created with the same name. I had a guy saved with my rl name and a few other neat ones, but deleated them to make different civilizations, found the "Invalid Name" error message when tried to remake them.

Not sure if this will work or not ... I know it was mentioned at one point in the past however.

Try completely logging out and back in?

As an experiment, I made a test character called "Bebot". Then logged it in and out a few times. Next it was deleted, and when another character had "Bebot" typed in for the name, the same 'Invalid Name' error message came up.



To test weather this phenomenon is localized on an account basis, someone else could attempt to create a character named "Bebot" and see if it goes.

I'm currently having the same problem and its a major pain in the ass. I've technically 'lost' 2 names I want because of it, names that people recognize me by. At first I was like 'well damn someone sure was quick on the ball to steal my name in the 2 minutes it took me to remake my character' but now that i've had it happen again with an even less 'clever' name and after reading this thread I know its a problem with Nevrax's character database.

FIX IT.

Edit: I tried making a Bebot character and no luck. I suppose that is somewhat comforting knowing I might not lose my character's name if I can log in and get it back once Nevrax fixes this glaring issue.

Submit a ticket in game. The GM will be able to rename you.

Edit: This is incorrect. The GMs cannot rename you. My mistake.

I put a ticket in for this issue asking if there was something they could do and the rep told me 'they are aware of the problem and there is nothing we can do at the moment' Of course this was 4 days ago, so if they could do this I would love to get my name back and just hold back from that evil delete button until this is resolved!

Anyone successfully had this done ?

Correction, new characters can be both created and deleated, but names deleated during the bugged time remain gone in limbo
