I just made my way to the mainland, in Pyr I believe, and it is kind of a shock. I'm 30 melee, 35 magic, just got a decent q40 staff, but armor is still LA q20.
I'm having a tough time adjusting to the main land. Seems either the mobs give nothing for exp, or they bring a friend, or I'm fighting and a friend comes by.
Anyone have any tips for how to proceed? I went northish out of the main city.
When I do kill , seems to take a lot of SAP, for not much reward.
Thanks for any and all help

Looking for some tips to first time in Fyros Mainland
Re: Looking for some tips to first time in Fyros Mainland
Do whatever quests you can do at your level (you should find them in your capital city). These should give you enough money to buy better equipment and/or raise your crafting skill to make better equipment.
There should be more then one npc handing out missions so that if you finish some, there should be more available. Only when you have done all the missions available should you consider grinding exp.
My $.02.

Thanks for the advice.
I'm assuming these quests are of the same form as the starter isle? This does raise one issue though, on the starter isle the quests really weren't lvl based, I remember trying kipees long before I should.
One of the problems I'm finding is figuring out what i can fight , what I can't. I'm fine with a bit of adventure as that is part ofthe fun of playing, but is there any list of the mob pre-fixes in terms of strength, eg puny/weeny scampering etc.?
Also are there some mobs that are more likely to bring a friend?
I was hoping to hunt and get my materials for my next upgrade, but I think I will use some of the cash I brought over and get some armor made.
Is north of the captial the best place to head for some one new to the area?
Thanks for any/all help
