Crafting and penalty
When I use crafting skill to craft Q25 weapons with Q25 store materials, I always get Q24 weapons. I don't wear any armor at this time so is it possible that there is other penalty with crafting that I'm not aware of?

Same thing happens to me.
I've also seen several people selling ql44 items(most likely trying to make ql45 items). I think it is just some odd bug bug - probably a rounding error when it does its calculations.
Try to stick to items whose ql are multiples of 10 I guess

You can craft some ql25 weapons with a ql40 (or ql30, don't remember, but its possible) craft plan

Were you wearing heavy armor while crafting? If your penalty from armor/load is too high, then the items you make won't be of as high quality as you would expect. I made a ton of q 19 armor untill I figured that out.

Could also be either 1) your death penalty (although I'm not entirely sure of this) or 2) your encumburance. I find that if I have over 60-something %, I get one or two q-levels lower than normal.

Factors that effect crafting:
Weight and bulk in bag (the fuller you bag the higher chance of degrade/failure).
however there is a 'bug' with crafting ql25 shop mats.
if you use ql25 mats +ql30 Skill = ql24 result
However I believe ql25 mats + ql50 skill = ql25 result.
Its an issue, that should be fixed, but has been around for ever
Either stick to crafting in ql10's eg 10/20/30/40/50/etc
or try the next skill level up from ql30 till you find the one that make ql25.
(I need did work out why the shops sold ql25 its such a strange number in a world where 10s are magic numbers)

I am thinking, hit points of the crafting tool are used too.
Using a "degraded" tool at lower levels makes no difference (maybe because of rounding). But using a 18 of 20 HP crafting tool on q50 items I only get results of 49 at max.
Rounding seems to be a main problem in all fields of crafting. One point more or less is seen instantly. And I am sure, there are some bugs/mistakes in coding here.

Zeras, you are very right about the bugs. I know of a few, don't know of all of them.
I didn't know about the encumberance affecting crafting, if this is so, it makes having multiple packers or an apartment all the more important. Although I have yet to break the ammount of daps to buy an apartment yet, I do have one packer and poor beast, he is at full capacity almost all the time.

A load of these bugs have been fixed.... time to check them all again
