My E-mail to Nevrax

Post by trappa »

i truly have enough now of this and so i wrote an email to some nevrax and some ryzom mail addresses. the text in this mail is as the following:

_________________________________________________________________
Hi everyone who reads this. My name is Merlok, i think most of you know my name.

The reason why i write this is because of the massive protests of the german community. our community manager farroxx has no plan and he dont give the massive protests of the german players to nevrax.
with every new patch ryzom becomes more and more dead. bugs over bugs, mdo gives us no information about anything, and mdo thinks that we are some kind of fools. we want correct and specific information, also the german community wants a testserver where patches can be tested! every patch should be tested damn it! so that no new bugs can come into the game.
i was one of only a handful people who promised this that ryzom becomes dead, but now more and more people are saying the same. many people left ryzom yet and more will follow if nothing changes. we are getting no infos about bugs that we found, we are some kind of children for mdo and they are telling us little stories so that we can sleep better. thats not the truth that is true ****. we want true infos!!!! we want patches without a thousands of new bugs! we are paying for ryzom as a release version and not for a beta version! maybe i get back my money? thats not the thing i have paid for!

also we need a team for the testserver. and also we need boosts to test the new patches. without any boosts the whole server is for nothing. everything must be tested on a new patch, so boosts are still needed. same thing like in focus beta. im sure that our german csrs would be part of the testserver team. so this should be no problem.

change something nevrax our your little hope will die i promise. a great fan of ryzom, but a very sad one now.

Im sorry to hear that.

Our community leader here in NA rocks. Cerest is the best I have seen in the buisness, but I havent paid attention to your leader on the German Server so I cant comment on that. ;)

As far as the rest I think we here on the NA Server have seen improvement. They said they were patching to improve lag. And guess what alot less lag. A very noticable difference.

I do notice they still have a slight memory leak/allocation but nothing at this point I cant live with.

I still reboot and crash every so often and yes its annyong but it hasnt gotten worse. The game is less then a month into retail and I think it would be unrealistic to expect all the issues to be solved.

Just my thoughts on it and if what you said is true I hope they change because I think Ryzom has a solid foundation to be a great MMO. I would pick this as my sleeper pick this year as I think as time goes on this game is only going to grow.

Yeah, the NA-community seems to be the most healthy at the moment. I'm checking your forums regulary, and man am I impressed. Your CSR-team is doing a great job, with all those small events, trying to push RP a bit forther and so on.

Over here in germany nothing like that happens. Oh, yes, we have had an announcement about Oba as well, but thats from over a week ago (posted by someone called "the Wanderer" - obviously a Gamemaster playing a role) and nothing happened till now. I wrote a nice letter to him, begging to tell a story of Obas past, or his own. Well, he could even have said "no, not allowed" or something like that - instead the posting got ignored for over a week now. And that's how everything works over here. Just wait and get nothing - even the patchnotes aren't completely translated all the time.

I'm not blaming this on MDO, our CSR, as I was part of Ryzom beta and know from back then MDO can do a great job. We had terriffic events and plenty fun with our GMs, but since release there's nothing. My humble guess is simply, they're overloaded - since Nevrax decided hiring someone only to do localisation would be unneccessary complicated/expensive/whatever. They already had some german support-team, so what against giving them all the work...
And now ask again, why a small community supporter isn't able to do his job...maybe, because they get money and time for one job doing two?

Sorry to hear that our friends overseas aren't getting the same treatment as us =/

Hopefully that changes soon. But you want my honest opinion? Teach Cerest German and make him community leader of both =D

No. Cerest is ours. If they want to go through the trouble of perfecting human cloning, they can have a clone, but we keep the original to ourselves.

Don't get me wrong, guys. :D
I'm not with trappa about this subject. In fact I blame Nevrax, not our CSR. They did a grea job in the betas, so why schould they stop now. I simply guess they're overworked, because Nevrax is a bunch of lazy guys.
Yes, germans Gamemasters and suppprt aren't that present these days, but I don't think, it's because of THEIR lazyness.

And then - if I would write such a manifest - I'd do it a little more polite ;)

And Slaval gets the big prize, hehe. ;)

I'm troubled to hear these comments about the German community since I know how hard the German CM works. It's true they are swamped, but if the German community feels they're being neglected then something is being overlooked, them. I'll pass this thread along.
