Dig/Spank Expedition!
Calling all warriors, mages, and forgers! The kitins have taken foothold in Prime Roots, but are we going to let them get away with this? Are we going to stop gathering valuable resources? No way!

From Dyron we will go to Under Spring, spank the Kitin Patrols in our way, and go to many popular dig spots.
From having experienced Kitin Patrols in a few situations, I feel we need 20+ people, some digging, some defending, and all helping with the fight when a patrol comes. We can't have too many in just dig gear, and you might come equipped for both.

Saturdays event was a great time and was a success! I want to thank all who came and hope you had as much fun as I did.
I will later post more details on what we learned as well as some screenshots.

WE SPANKED!!!!
Our Dig/Spank Expedition on Saturday had a group of 14-17 people (some came late some left early so it varied in size at times). After taking down the first patrol no problem, 5 or 6 of us switched to focus gear and remained that way for the 2hrs we spent. The team had 4 tanks. Later on, one DA master was spamming fear all the time and we think this helped a lot. At least 4 in the group were with skills of less than 200. When patrols came, the people in focus gear all healed.
I managed to fill 2.5 bags, mostly excel. We dug 9 different mats. I think we took down about 15 Patrols. Three times we wiped, but each was due to having 2 patrols jump us at the same time. Also most of us almost got rid of DP after each wipe due to the fights and digging. DP was non-factor really!
One observation... it looks like the respawn point is right in the center of US. Not a good place to dig lol.
Afterwards we were talking about best makeup for a team. The thought is that if you have one master DA who can spam fear constantly, its best to have very few tanks, or maybe none (might want just 1 tank for the sake of other agro along the way), and instead more nukers and healers. A LOT of bomb healing is key. Also it would appear that a full team of 9, if all masters, should be able to handle the largest patrols. Our group of 16ish was likely short only 3 or 4 in order to have survived 2 patrols at the same time. Clearly Under Springs is a better spot than our first attempt in Sunken City, where ending up with 2, maybe even 3 patrols on you, is common.

Would love to hear if others have thoughts on the best team makeup, and if people would like to do this on some sort of regular basis.

I am always up for this, as I said before though, its a rugby weekend here at the moment and pretty hectic, also tomorrow we have a couple of days to spend, celebrating St Patricks Day, but from wednesday on, chuck my name down for any of the euro-teams, I can dig/heal/hit or nuke as required

nice going guys Yes the respawn point appears to be actually in Madakoo cave, but there maybe more than one.
We weren't digging when we did this the other day, but we mostly had no tank at all - 2 nukes and the rest healing with occaisional fear to keep the last of the patrol alive and avoid respawns. As you said, we only needed a tank to deal with the occaisional vorax we ran over

3:1, 2:1, 1:1 ... probability factor of one to one; we have normality. I repeat: we have normality. Anything you still can't handle is therefore your own problem.

Sundays event became our 2nd success. We spanked 2 named, lots of KPs, and dug 9 different mats including sup Dzao, sup Oath, and some excel Zun.
I will likely keep running these on a regular basis as long as 15+ people keep showing up (something like 1 or 2 times per week). Watch the forums here for next expedition!
Id really like to see even more join and wed do a more challenging area like Sunken City including checking a few bosses on the way. Under Springs is good though for those with no PR TPs.
