We are currently planning to create a new team of volunteers, similar to the CSR team but for translations instead of support. We're looking for those dedicated and motivated individuals that not only want to be a part of the community but also want to give back to the community, specifically as a translator.
This new team will have two main tasks to fulfill; primarily we are looking for people to provide localized translations for the game, the website and the chat tool, but as well as this they will be responsible for translating news posts and so on when required. As you can imagine, this will be a very important responsibility to undertake.
To begin with, we intend to translate Ryzom into Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and Russian. Having said that, if you are a very motivated player who wants to translate the game into your mother tongue, then please don't hesitate to apply as well; who knows, we could be very interested in your special mother tongue as well

What we're looking for are people who know how to communicate well in their specified language, are willing and able to put in the time required to get the job done, and who of course have experience with the game (so they know how to properly translate Ryzom words and phrases). In summary, applicants need to be able to *read* and understand English very well and able to *write* and understand their chosen language very well. Everyone also needs to be very motivated, because there is a lot to translate!
If you want to apply then please send an e-mail to L10n-app@ryzom.com. You need to include the following information in the email, in English please:
- Your account name.
- The name of the character you use the most in Ryzom.
- The language you wish to translate into.
- What level of competence you have with this language (ie native speaker, second language, or a degree of some sort in it).
- What level of competence you have with English (ie native speaker, second language, or a degree of some sort in it).
- What experience you have of translation tasks (if any; this is an advantage but not a requirement).
- How many hours per week you will be able to dedicate to this project.
- Why you think you would make a good addition to this team.
The Ryzom Team.
PS: If you don't understand this post, please don't apply
