As long as we don't have the game open most discussion are restricted to generalities. But to improve the game the discussion should be targetted at actual practical details. As Ani mentionned somewhere there were a number of threads regarding certain professions analysing professions in depth using concrete numbers aso, and they are still burried and dead there.
What about we use the time and the forums at hand and dig them out. Best thread about healing, best thread about afflis, best thread about swords etc. For example I found this discussion most interesting about ranged tree, what is working what not, what needs fixing etc.
Some games have community representatives for each profession, woudl be a nice idea here too, but untill then I guess, digging old/lost/useful info could do, too.

I agree with you but, i think till we don't know what the owners are planning to do with the game, we can't say much. Anyway the more they know about us the better

Whatever their intentions are, one of them seems deffinitedly: put Ryzom back online. Now once this is done in one way or another, changes/fixes/maintainance should be planned on one or another method of prioritizing lists.
I doubt they would lose weeks to dig the forums for the good ideas, or informed opinions, while the hard core players here present have in their portable organic memories
traces of those threads that really impressed them in the past years so the search is much easier.

I liked some of the original changes, for 1-handed weapons; that were in mid development (or at least we were told they were), about the time things went south.

Re: Best thread about...
as bad as age of conan was its forums were laid out in a good way with each proffession having its own forum sub sections etc for disscusion and alsorts... however i think that it would be harder to do with ryzom with the amount you can do as everything really breaks down to individual weapon choice and the person playing..
however a set of forum subsections for Dig/craft/melle/magic would help in the locating of infomation

Re: Best thread about...
They don't need to dig through the entire forums, just through the feedback one. I find it has the majority of interesting discussion and suggestions in one nice tidy package.
The most relevant I think would be the threads from 2007 and the later half of 2006, as they best reflect the current issues and opinions. The older threads had interesting discussions too but are probably largely outdated now.
Personally I find the issue of missions the most interesting one at the moment. [thread=28909]Here[/thread], [thread=28937]here[/thread], [thread=31837]here[/thread] and [thread=31809]here[/thread].
You've already posted the most interesting threads about melee and ranged. As for magic, foraging or crafting, I don't think we've had any really fundamental discussions about it recently. For magic, not since they added magic protection to jewelry and revamped healing, back in 2005. For foraging, I don't think I've ever seen one. For crafting, well there was [thread=29514]this[/thread].
I've tried to find an interesting thread about outposts, but couldn't really find any. The good suggestions concerning those seem spread over many many threads and buried amongst the arguing. If we want to gather ideas about those I guess we'll have to start a new thread.
As for the Ring, [thread=25448]this thread[/thread] and [thread=25793]this thread[/thread] are still very relevant.
And personally I find Acri's recent post [post=434517]here[/post] to be a pretty good summary of what rolled out of years of discussion and suggestion threads.
