Upgrading an account with a CD key

Hey folks!

Well, I took a chance and ordered a box for Ryzom from Amazon. It was a chance cause it's a used box (I think). But, for 6 bucks (3 for the game, 3 for shipping) it was a chance I was willing to take. Hopefully the CD key will work, and I'll be able to migrate to the mainland (after milking Silan for as much as I can, of course).

Anyway, where do I enter the code? Is there a place from within the game? Or do I do it through the ryzom.com website?

Cool. Thanks for that link. I remember seeing that page (I think I'd clicked on the Update Account box in the initial Ryzom startup screen), but the last time I tried going there I think the page was down or something.

Anyway, thanks again. Now I'm just waiting for the fam to send me the key over the mail. Hopefully the previous owner didn't use it. *fingers crossed*

Yeah, I wasn't going to use the CD.

But, I may have gotten a bum steer anyway. My ma can't seem to find the key on the stuff I got. She said there was a box, a couple CDs in an envelope, and the manual. Is the key on a sticker or something? Or is it somewhere inside the manual? I don't have the stuff in front of me (I'm in Japan, she's in the States), so I'm not sure what I should be telling her to look for.

Not really a big deal, I guess since I only paid 3 bucks for the stuff, but I was hoping to be able to get to Atys (and post in the General forum).

Ah! Found mine! It's on the back of one of the envelopes for one of the CDs.

Also, keep in mind you can't upgrade your account to go to the mainland until the new company sets up.

Actually, that is exactly what using the CD key will do for you. You can upgrade, you just can't PAY to upgrade. The CD keys are pre-paid upgrades.

Gah! I need my ma to hurry up and check the envelope that the CDs came in. Though, I'm pretty sure she would have noticed a sticker had there been one. She's not an idiot. Well, if this turns out to be a crap purchse, I might check out an ebay version of Ryzom. They're only going for about 7 bucks there. With the 6 added on for shipping and handling, that's not too much.
