..remember, I'm a nooblet when it comes to OP's. But being at yesterday's OP attack and seeing that both sides were having fun, it made me think:
What if we had a friendly OP attack?
SO here's what I thought: (feel free to laugh)
We get some low level OP, the lowest is level 100? And we either convince the owner to give it up (hehe) or all donate some stuff and buy it off them, or at least buy off the donation.
Then, we all side up. We have an attacking side and a defending side. Real basic, no Kami or Karavan. We can even use low levels, brand newbies, middle levels like me, and the Uber's. We publish the list of the participants here, so we can make sure it is even.
We can also publish a list of donations, and where they came from, for everyone to see.
Then, the current owner of the OP is declared on by the leader of the attacking team. We all show up, have a great time. We allow the winner of the OP to have it for a week or two before the next team declares. And we do it again, mixing up the teams and having a great time.
I think it'd be cool! Lower level players like me could see how OPs really work, and could learn some tactics...also newbie players could get their feet wet while having a great time. We could even say, for "lore's sake" that it is a training camp.
Sooo, anyway, I'd volunteer in any way. I'll donate some dap, and I can help organize it.
Silly idea?

Re: An idea I had...
was thinking something similar, like a GvG only op
agree terms beforehand and fight the first round and let holder bea TH for the 2nd to allow it to carry on

Re: An idea I had...
We did this time ago with the Dragonblades and it was a lot of fun. We battled for an unimplemented OP in Nexus, could be very nice battle indeed.

"In Ryzom, any advantage is reinforced over time. An advantage in 250 cats means one side can bring it's recruits to full strength in a much shorter amount of time. If we as little street kids could figure out a way to make their games more balanced, challenging and fun....I would think that a game company or even the players themsleves could come up with an idea or two."

You could even do like the race thing you have to sign on in Silan on entry that would ensure Parity for everyone as a fun event.

Quite the spirit of positivity Viper. Instead of being so negative all the time and whinning like a little child why dont you try and add something a little more comprehensive and supportive to the community. You are giving these forums a bad air and it is not a good image for newcomers to Ryzom.
Beau - think you have a good idea there. I would like to participate in it and think it would be fun. Who knows maybe I even get to team with my *enemies* and kill a few *friends* hehe. Think it would bring a bit of light heartedness back to Atys, you got my thumbs up

Re: An idea I had...
considering ive tried putting events together yeah. and ive read and heard the reaction from the last 2 times this was tried. once with the kami wanting to do GvG and then BGZs idea for GvG. as for the negativity, its not my fault that thats the reality, just as its not my fault some of my friends wont play for reasons that existed before i got here.twina wrote:Quite the spirit of positivity Viper. gotta remember im not some uber 250 vet, i cant change the world, only observe and try to point out stuff. if you dont take into account the negatives when you try to make ANYTHING, your gonna be hurting later on. that has applied to everything ive worked on, programming, rp events, network design, etc.

Beau, count me in to help with this.
Actually I've been working on a similar thought, not ready to make any announcements yet but have some good feedback from the folks I've been talking to.
Give me a shout offline and we'll compare notes.

Yeh this would be cool, but I can understand if we couldn't find an OP to do it with. If I had an OP I would never loan it out cuz I'd be too busy putting xmas lights on it, like Snoopy's doghouse.

Re: An idea I had...
what about the ryzom ring? ive heard (though havent got it to work yet) you can have 2 teams and keep a score of deaths etc. op rules are not that hard, only problem would be the npc deferders...beaut666 wrote:Yeh this would be cool, but I can understand if we couldn't find an OP to do it with.
