less likely to crash : OpenGL or Direct3d

Post by browserice »

WHich is less likely to crash for the followings ?

If we have an Nvidia based card, OpenGl or Direct3D ?

If we have an ATI based card, OpenGl or Direct3D ?

My seting is set on Auto and I have an Ati 9600XT.
hobbies : 3d design, news about game designs, virtual reality

Deviant Art : http://browser-ice.deviantart.com/gallery/

Still thinking about doing a full 3d rendering of Fyros (call it Ryzom 3.0 if you like).

Direct3d is recommended in almost all cases unless you have a specific reason for running OpenGL (IE Ryzom under Linux, or an odd configuration that works better under OpenGL)
