Another patch problem...

Post by jesuriah »

After this latest patch, I have not been able to enter the game.

After the servers were restarted from the first crash, I tried(unsuccessfully) to log back in. I'd type in my Login and PW, the patcher would start, run some kind of update, and then tell me to restart the program. So I would, the patcher would run again, and tell me to restart again. So I did, and well, you get the idea(25 attempts total). I tried restarting my computer, backing up the save folder and deleting that one file. I tried deleting the "unpack" file. I tried the whole "repair Ryzom" route. Out of desperation, I deleted all my temporary internet files. Yeah, still no login. So I try for a reinstall, which brings me to my new adventure.

Now, I try to download the game, and get to 50% or so(it seems completely random, I've had 51%,53%, 56%, 61% and 63% from what I can remember).

I've been essentially locked out of game for 4 days now.

Anyone have any ideas?

Have you tried checking to see if your firewall settings are interfering with your download? If you are an XP user please check to see if your XP SP2 firewall reenabled itself. Sometimes after a windows update it will turn itself back on causing a conflict with other software firewalls.

If you are a Windows Vista user. Please double check to make sure your user account permissions are correctly set to allow read/write in the installation directory.

You could also try flushing your dns cache and rebooting your router (both at the same time) from a command prompt run ipconfig /flushdns

If none of these help you could try logging into klients and we'll do our best to get you sorted out.
