At what level are you leaving newbi-land

Post by brid54 »

An Idea of what level people are leaving the newbi islands, as a guide for newbi's.
I found in the beta i waited till i was lvl20 for all 4 skills and that this was unnesscary, this time round i left at lvl13 and found little trouble in main land as long as i hardly left the town :)

I tend to get at least the skills that I am going to be using up to 20 before I leave. However, in principle it's possible to cope even at lvl 1 in the mainland. The reason for this is that even a lvl 150 fighter at mainland might suddenly decide they want to start levelling their magic, which is at lvl 1. They must have a way, so mainland is just as fine for lvl 1.

The purpose of the refugee island in my opinion is not to be there for low-level characters, but for "low-level" players, i.e. those who don't know the game much. The refugee island is a nice controlled and relatively safe place for them to experiment and learn the game.
An experienced player should be able to level from 1 in refugee island as well as mainland.

Ive left it really late, listening to several people ive been told that i need to have a pretty good setup to survive in the mainlands. Believe it or not, im now lvl 41 in harvesting and 20ish in melee fighting and almost 20 in crafting and i still havent left the noob lands.

I remember in AO that the nooblands consisted of an area about the size of small park lol...and once you reached lvl 5 you had to leave because there was nothing else you could do there, where as with Ryzom, you can still earn easy xp in your 30's...with little risk involved.

Im going to leave tonight though, because im just getting bored stupid with the noob area. I think many people would be in the same boat

additional : Because i wasnt a beta tester as such, its taking me a long time to figure out whats what....im sure a lot of other non beta testers are in a similiar boat....those that were testers have an obvious advantage in knowlege and experience.

I joined the game on the 3rd day it came out and since it was kinda obvious that not too many got the game (forums told a lot about the problem to actually get a hold of the game) I stayed at noob-island for quite a while. I left when I had my melee to almost 30 and all other skills around twenty or above. That way I could at least handle some gingos and others on the mainland alone. When I got to Yrkanis there was a total of 3 other players for a couple days.
By now I think it is easier and saver to leave the island earlier.
