After checking his stacks of flyers in the stables of the four corner of Atys and the empty registration list, he took all the well prepared material away in despair and headed toward his guild hall, grumbling as usual...
On this day day of Thermis, the sun was very hot and the trees of the forest were not enough to protect him from the sun.
He choose to turn through Yrkanis stage floor to keep away from the blazing Thermis sun and spotted Biskisbis resting his old bones in a nearly perfect kami zen position..
- "Hehe , darn Old kami got guts siting the old kami way in middle of Yrkanis."
were his thought while heading toward to Karavan emissary camp.
He was running as fast as he could, encumbered by the weight of the useless fiber and barks boards.
The karavan emissary approached him:
- "Gillest, what are you doing now with all those fiber and bark flyers runing aroung Yrkanis?""
After two or three years buying pacts from karavan or kami factions without any word of each of them, he was very surprised een addressed directly from an emissary and frooze.
....
- "hmmm, taking it all off Sir, homins do not seem interested in challenges nowadays: they are more interested in fighting each others and forgot the real menace on our lands.."
- "Gillest, Gillest.... true is your heart, your fight for hominkind and those lands but we will not speak about the future and the current fights with you as the future cannot be unfold today.
But Hominkind as you call it could use your help, and the help of your fellow homins"
The emissary took a pause and looked at him as if wondering if he was even worth of the next sentence...
A few homins appeared around the teleport and ran away to their daily task when the emissary continued.
Not a single change in his attitude, as if he had repeated this statement over and over.
- "What do you know about the Goo Gillest?"
- "Hmmmm: not much to be honest, i have encountered it many times during my stay on Atys, i have nearly be killed by it, have seen some creatures of the Void been mutated but I do not know much about it"
- "No one knows about it" was the answer..
- "The kami and ourselves have been studying it and have not yet been able to fully understand why it spreads so fast in the Forest"
The emissary took a pause and looked at the fiber and bark posters he was carrying back to his GH..
- "We know have a request for you: would you help Atys as an homin?
Do not ask any question about the reason of this quest that we will assign to you. Know only one thing: despite our hate for the kami we have two things in common with them. The Kitins and the Goo are enemy from both of us"
A deep silence followed the last statement...
- "Since a few months the Kitins have not tried anything on Atys but the Goo is still spreading..
So here is your request to you: we have nearly put the last touch to a few recipes which we would like to be taken to the Kamis of the Void, those potions are very very delicate and cannot be teleported or they would have already been handed out to the Kami to test and neither can they exposed for too long to the sun.
So we thought Homins could help Atys.
You are now going to put your boards back on the stables but the race is not going to be a race for fun anymore.
Within a few weeks, the last recipes will be finished and we will need you to take those potions to the Kami for experimentations, the only safe way would be Ichor, nexus and Wastelands as this will reduce the time the potions are exposed to the sun of Atys"
The emissary took a last pause:
- "We understand lot of homins may die on the way as this will take you through the territory of the kitins but this is of prime importance.
We recommend, in agreement with the Kami, that all homins; whatever their belief; should be recruited as the Goo could simply spread further and win over any living thing on Atys.
Recruit your fellow homins, when the time is right, be ready to run this mission for the planet"
"Even if only one guild or one team makes it, as soon as the samples will be ready, they will need to be escorted to the Void without any delay"
It was the first time the Karavan Emissary spoke to him and this seemed so important that he could only mutter
-"Yes Sir..., I will..."
He then took off and look at his flyers with a puzzled look....
He had thought about a fun race only but this was taking huge proportions, he hoped he would be able to handle such responsibility and started to wonder if homins would even believe him.....
