Patcher: curl download failed?

I'm getting a really weird error message from the patcher when I try to log onto the game.

Checking file ended with errors: curl download failed: (ec 0 404)

Any suggestions on where to start? Game does not initialize after that, it just locks up and has to be manually shut down. I've had to manually close it on exit a few times, it doesn't look like "Quit Now" is working for me anymore. Hoping maybe the two are related so I only have to apply one fix.

This is what helped me.
I had to remove an old workaround from the last Patcher limbo issue.

Go check if this is something u have added to your comp aswell.

Go to:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

There u should have a file called hosts, open it.
Check for this line: 85.25.140.86 dl1.gfsrv.net
IF u have that line in ur hosts file, remove it. (This was added to fix the last patcher limbo)
Try launch ur client again..
