In the beginning there was solitude, loneliness and darkness. Our journey begins in the void, detached from soil and sea. We were vassals of the Dragon, voyagers in search of breath, transfigured by hope, waiting for the living planet.

Once the Dragon arrived it sent us forth into a world of darkness and ice. Only within the reach of the mighty creatures gaze could the stout survive. Atys was desolate of life but brimming with power, power that the Dragon needed in its quest to acquire a mate.

The great Wyrm placed its attention upon the stars intoning its song of rapture, but the answer came not from the heavens but from within the planets core. Gathering the spoils of the suffering, the Dragon journeyed towards the depths, abandoning Hominkind to oblivion.

The dying cries of the Homins were heard by Jena, the mother of our creation. The Goddess lit up the sky, beholding the burrowed Wyrm crouched upon the treasures of Atys. Jena focused her holy sight, striking the Dragon.

Castrated by the light, bellowing in agony, the Dragons flames mixed with its seed and the riches of Atys. Fire and smoke obscured the planet, shielding the Dragon. Exhausted, wounded and beaten, the Wyrm retreated into the depths and slept.

In that conflagration the Great Tree took shape created from the severed flesh of the Dragon. Atys became alive.

Jena looked upon what had been wrought and realized that the people of her creation were in need. If she were to manifest and lead them they would become slaves of her presence. In awe they would serve. She sent guardians in her stead and charged them with the task of preserving Her children.
