Smaller Ryzom Client Installer

A new Ryzom client installer is now available. From now on you only need to download and install the Ruins of Silan - our starter island - to try Ryzom for free. You can then decide when it best suits you to download the rest of the game in the background, for example whilst playing Ryzom. Find more information here.

One of the advantages of using this installer is that you will only have to download 614 MB instead of 1.7 GB to start playing. It contains all the patches up to our latest patch (no 610, from March the 15th) and a new repair executable, named "client_background_downloader_rd.exe" in your \ryzom folder.

For our current Ryzom players: with the release of this new installer, we will have to update your patcher. There should be a client-side patch tomorrow morning with no server downtime. As a result, you will have a small patch to apply when you launch Ryzom tomorrow.
