A warm welcome to Zora

Post by frakel »

I had a real nice experience tonight Id like to share.

I logged into Ryzom with a new alt I had recently made for RP only... decided it might be fun to actually gain a few levels to help survive moving around outside of cities... Yeah thats right, I have a level 1 (one) fight and 1 (one) magic character on the mainland...

No problem gaining a few levels I thought... how hard can it be? Even though I have no gear, I have no skills, and my client is lagging like h...

It turned out to be pretty hard :) Lucky for me lots of people where helpfully offering their assistance to help me past those first ***** levels and get me on my feet again.

So a big, warm thanks to Zepth, Jnf, Linkys and Xtarsia. *thumbs*

- EDIT: Oh and sorry for my original language in the formulation of ´hard to get´ levels - *points towards Tydamus´ red markers*. Didnt meen to offend anyone :)

Posts like this represent what happens everyday in Ryzom. This is going to sound like I'm shooting myself in the foot here, (lol) but I have recieved so many free items that it is just CRAZY! There is a certain player (not sure I should name him becasue I dont want people to IM him like crazy begging for things) that INSISTS on giving away his crafted items. Granted, it's lower level stuff that might not be much to a higher level, but the thought is still the same: We're all in this together!

this is not unusual and hence why ryzom is such a nice place to play.

i never charge for my crafted items unless i put on the mercs at crazy low prices.
that could be anything from a Q50 exe zun amp right upto Q250 supreme amps
much more satisfying to see someone get benifit and enjoyment from something u made that a few more dappers in your bag i feel

I just started on the mainland not too long ago and I'm amazed every time I log in to always see people willing, heck insisting on helping out anyway they can. That's the true sense of community and it's not often seen in other games as well as places anywhere in life really.

Ryzom is quickly becoming not just a place I come to to relax and enjoy myself, but a sort of haven too. ;)

Aye, it is not unusual amongst Atys' refugees, but it should never be played down because of that. As Beau said, we're all in this together.

To Kami Da and friends, my respect and appreciation.

A good point which I agree with. :)

Material wealth is transient, most so in a game where it doesn't help the accumulator to feed and otherwise sustain themselves (OOC because there is no secondary market for Ryzom goods, and IC because anyone can go out and cut up a yubo for lunch). The good feeling of simply helping a fellow human (homin, if IC) being and the overall effect on community spirit and quality when this happens on a repeated and widespread scale is far more solid and valuable.

In conclusion, with this in mind, I hope the economy changes GameForge plans to implement will not stimulate a decline toward a more avaricious and parsimonious spirit.
