Hi,
I started my adventures in Ryzom recently, I've played mmporgs before and have been looking for something I could play casually where I could craft and buy and sell items via a shop or marketplace. So far it looks as if this game may fulfill those wishes.
Heres what I'm thinking or am finding confusing after playing for a few hours, sanity checks appreciated!
1 I think I will restart on Cho what with it being a newer server, always easier to make an impact on a less mature marketplace. Will I encounter other players in my timezone?
2 I have read up on factions but am very confused, its one of those things that you have to experience to understand I think. Would my race choice limit me later in the game? The first character I made is Matis and I'm happy with that from a purely aesthetic perspective.
3 I did the second crafting quest, the 5 boots and 5 trousers with HP one. The quest progressed to where the journal window recognised that I had made the items and then asked me to sell them to the light armour merchant - this was despite the fact that I didnt think I'd made enough trousers. I sold the items I did have to the armour merchant but the quest doesn't complete and the quest giver won't respond. I tried making the items I thought I might have missed and sold them but it's still stuck. What did I do wrong and how do I avoid it with another character?
4 Prospecting, this gets easier or quicker, right? I noticed that you can prospect for materials that make specific items such as clothing. Is this as specific as you can get or is that the quests in the starting island ask for specific items and you don't need to be so specific when you're out crafting in the full game?
Thanks for any insights, I've been impressed at the helpfulness of the community in game so far.
