Could be a couple of things;
It's possible you're just crashing so see if you have the latest drivers for your graphics card.

Also check the temperature of your gfx chip.

Then there's the possibility that your machine is chocking and has trouble loading all the graphics.
To get a better idea of what's going on it might be usefull to have your specs.

and as Sxar said klients is your friend when things go south :)

There's a support forum a few down from this one, that could prove more fruitful btw :) .

If you're getting a completely black screen, you would check that you're running the lastest INF/chipset driver for your motherboard, or contact the motherboard manufacturer's site, many provide tech forums where they'll have a lot of people experiencing it. Sometimes latest driver isn't the best, but manufacturers are generally better about releasing updates, so if this month's is no good, try next month.

Or, it's a video card problem. Check the drivers, run ryzom configuration, turn off vertex shaders and similar options, you may just have an older card, which doesn't support these things, and it's unable to draw anymore the scene properly.

In order to have an idea that would be more specific, if it happens again, I'd suggest posting in the support forums, and include some details about your computer. If you're a 'non-techie' then if say you bought a dell or HP, their sites tell you how to determine what your model number is without a screwdriver, so get that information at the very least for us techheads to sniff at and we'll give you some suggestions. If you're not sure how to get some information, we can even suggest ways you can find out.

Good luck!
