Do you have any other programs running at the same time as Ryzom when this happens? Try launching Ryzom with your Task Manager open on processes, listed according to CPU usage to see if some other process is hogging your cpu? I think overly heavy hard disk access could also cause your symptoms, and maybe RAM shortage, too.

I take it that sometimes Ryzom launches and works fine right through until logging out?

i have the same problem and i can usually fix it by killing the game with taskmanager and when i get to login screen again i check files and then i can relaunch and all works fine again for 3-4 weeks then i need to do it again

The mouse pointer can disappear when you are pressing down on the right mouse button, and you can run when both mouse buttons are pressed down.

If your not intentionally pressing them down then have a look at the mouse to make sure the buttons are not pressed down themselves.

Aah, that makes me think of something else, Gamic. There's an Apple mouse now, the Mighty Mouse I believe, which performs both left and right click functions although Apple rodents have had no buttons for some years. It is known to cause problems for some people making the change from their old mouse, right-clicking when they do not mean to.
