Can you have Pets?

i am a newb i have only had the game for a few days. My question is can you have pet and if so how?

I'm pretty newbie myself but from what I've read, you can have one mount and up to 3 packers. I haven't seen anything about pets. (EQ Beastmaster-style or otherwise.)

As Gretchen said there are only the mount and three packers you can buy from the stables, other than these there are no pets. I have heard rumor that pets, or animal tamers as a skill tree where brought up by the players but not sure if it will be implimented.

On the subject of pets, are you able to change the name of your pack animals/mounts?

Unfortunately not. Another one on the to-do list for Nevrax I think as it has been mentioned before and would be a nice feature.
