Occasionally I read something someone says that just seems to sum up an aspect of Ryzom very nicely...

Ryzom has a natural "learning curve" that needs time and good will from the player. I am also starting to think that this is acting as a natural filter and this is a "good thing" (tm) and a feature (why did the words "Darwinism" and "Natural Genetic Selection" come to mind? I don't know).
