signed up, having a lot o' fun. lots to learn.
okies, here's my latest obstacle
Newbie quest: create 3 quality 15 magic amplifiers
previous quest was obtaining the materials for said items.
materials i used were all the ones need for quest, all of quality 20 yet I'm getting quality 10 magic amps. (gotten the materials twice now)
materials in quest: (all basic) 15 javing bones or 15 mitaxi wood (these were quality 15)
buo, zun amber, yelk 'shrooms, yelk skin qualities 20
result: q10 Magic amp
spent a boatload of money buying q20 materials to replace the bones with q20 wood
same result q 10 magic amps
so before i spend all afternoon reaquiring and wasting said materials again. what am I missing here.
-use buo instead of skin? both can be used in same slot
-is my crappy basic tool affecting it? (can't find anything better and plan isn't offered to me at trainer to make my own)
-different combo of materials used (never used the amber as stuff i had was sufficient)
I'm totally missing something important here <cry>

Re: Crafting, I'm missing something fundamental
To make a long explanation (which you might be used from me ) short:
You will need to obtain and use the "melee weapon crafting 2" stanza/action, as the "Crafting Action 1" will only result in Q10 max, #2 in Q20 max.
The crafting preview is also quite valuable there in case one accidentally uses the wrong stanza.

Re: Crafting, I'm missing something fundamental
You raise your stanza's by buying up the standard skil, ie: melee crafting 2. Always remember to go and edit your stanzas to better personalize them for you such as when you want to add a boost or something..
Hope this helps

Re: Crafting, I'm missing something fundamental
I did the exact same thing!
I actually created new action with the level 20 stanza so now I have 2, one for level 10 and one for level 20...of course probably don't need to as I'm not sure why or if I would ever be wanting to make something lower than my crafting is capable of.
(Maybe to make some for a starting player who lacks the prerequisites to use the higher item...of course a quick edit can swap the crafting levels if that was needed.)

Re: Crafting, I'm missing something fundamental
Oh you will need lower ones for friends, guild mates, and such. I have level 90 jewel craft but as the guild's jeweler, I regularly make q50 jewel sets for our new members (we give a full set of level 50 jewels, armor, etc, to people when they start).gretchen wrote:I did the exact same thing!
