Guild Registry of Outposts: Who, Where and What [CHO] (Updated)

Post by nephy13 »

The Outposts of Atys
((These are the outposts on the Cho shard. The state of outposts on Arispotle is available [thread=24945]elsewhere[/thread]. It is from this thread that I took the conventions used in this post. Thanks to riveit for maintaining that list and I hope he/she doesn't mind me copying it for the Cho list!))

Factional allegiances of outpost controllers are indicated by colour for Kami, Karavan,
Neutral or unknown allegiances. ((Coloured asterisks denote those groups that are aligned to one of the factions purely to gain access to their teleporters, but who wish to be considered neutral for political purposes)).

For more information about the guilds that are in control of the outposts, please look at the associated [thread=353323]list of guilds[/thread].

I think that this thread and the corresponding [thread=24945]list of Arispotle outposts[/thread] should be moved to the Cho guilds and Arispotle guilds boards respectively, since they are completely shard-specific. This is only my personal view and I have not discussed it with the maintainer of the [thread=24945]Arispotle outpost list[/thread].

Well, I am the king of all half-wits! Sorry about that...I looked for one yesterday and didn't see one and didn't recheck before I made my own today. Nice to see that the Arispotle spawned guilds have taken over the world already...*rolls eyes*

Well, one thing that Cho was touted as was as a place where new players (new to Ryzom rather than new to Cho) could make a name for themselves, rather than being in the shadow of long-term players on Arispotle. This appealled to my pioneer spirit a great deal (I started a few days into Cho).

Based on the way outposts work ("The Rich get Richer") and the fact that the old (especially Kami) guilds want to come to Cho, the current state can hardly be surprising, but it is not the way I would have liked to have seen it (and no, I can't see that there was a way it could have been different). I'm just thankful that the devs disabled Ring-based gifts to Cho or the gulf would be even wider. I don't see that having all the guilds on Arispotle and Cho being run by the same players serves to differentiate things much. I am not talking in any way about players coming from Arispotle to start new avatars, but only about the guilds being exactly the same and presumably run by the same small number of players. Anyway, this is a free-will issue and I wouldn't want to interfere with what anyone wants to do - I'm just saying that I am disappointed, since I naively expected something different.

It is, for example, common for CoX players to have a hero and villain group "paired" on the same server, but I can't imagine that the hero groups on different servers are run by the same people.

Hopefully, though, the newbie (not noob) guilds will get organised in the coming months and it will all get settled out.
