Lost little Zoraï

Post by lexblue »

Hey there, I started the free trial last night, and I'm still forming an opinion about the game. It seems cool so far, though I've just been stumbling around.

I've been playing WoW for over a year and a half (still enjoying it), and have also tried SWG and RF Online; the former just wasn't that fun and levelling/crafting/gathering was tedious, the latter I only played twice before boxing it because it had the same problem but also lacked depth. Always liked roleplaying in WoW, and this place looked promising for that. Might also try the Ring if I can figure out what to do with it.

Anyways, I have a few newb questions:

1. How bad is the grind in this game, beyond the starter island? As far as levelling your skills, etc. In other words, do you feel that it's necessary to do the same thing, repeatedly and for a long time, for a character to progress?

2. Going for the spellcaster bit, so I decided to learn this healing spell; how do I easily target -myself- to heal while I'm in battle, if it's possible?

3. Since I'm playing a Zoraï, I'd like to know how the hell they eat with those masks 'genetically sewn' to their faces. Or do they get sustinance another way? I'm puzzled by this, even though I love how they look. ;)

4. Is it possible to be something strange like a Karavan-aligned Zoraï, and would it be easier to find things to do as a neutral homin?

5. Better chance to find an RP guild on Arispotle, or should I start over on Cho?

Thanks for your time. ^^

(P.S. I also seem to be getting a message in my profile to enter a parent's email address, and I'm certainly not a minor. Sent a message to the admin but I'm not sure WTF is up with that.)

1 - Not going to hide it, you can grind a hell of a lot in this game. 250 levels in each branch and it can get dead slow towards the end. However, you do have a choice which means your not stuck doing one or a few things if you don't wanna which makes the game very cool. (ie: no class system)

2 - Can't heal yourself with normal heal spells no, though there are kind of one off self heal actions which are timer limited.

3 - Have to chop things up smaller to fit things through the tiny hole. ;)

4 - Great freedom here although it would be a little extra work for you being Zorai (and them having more Kami fame by default) to become Karavan aligned it is very posible. :)

5 -Arispotle would be my guess as your best bet, although I'm not very sure of the RP situation on Cho.

Heres the two guild lists which have some RP info on them also.

When you put it like that, no. If I don't want to grind, I don't grind. ;)

Zoraï have some flexibility around their mask's orifices. At character selection, use an open slot and start creating a new Zoraï character, then click the play-button in the lower-left part of the screen. Interesting animations ensue.

There are several RP guilds on Arispotle, but Cho is not lacking either.

Welcome. :)

Well young homin, every Zoraï is free to follow what ever path to enlightenment they chose. Be aware though, that if you chose to follow the Karavan, you will make the kami and your ancestors cry.

Be also aware that the state-sponsored cults are not the only ways for the spiritual homin. While the evil Mabreka would have you worship Ma-Duk as the kami superior, some see Jena as the kami superior. There are those like me that follow the old ways and venerate the kami while rejecting the notion of gods. Still others looks to Tryton for enlightenment. Some very un-enlightened souls worship dapper.

As they say, "life is spiritual on Atys." Find your own path.
