Guild Outposts

Post by jhaan »

So while exploring the areas around Yrkanis, I noticed many, MANY of the outposts are actually burnt ruins. I've heard that guilds, once they get large enough, can actually take ownership of these outposts and build them up (and I assume, set up merchants and housing). Is this true? And if it is, is there a guild I can join to help out? :D

Also, what kind of improvements can be done on a guild hall?

Thanks,

Yeah, there's outposts in the roots like that too. Wonder who is going to be the first to hold one of those...

u gotta get guild missions and get ur guild fame up so u can either take over the outpost by force, or by having high enough fame with the tribe that owns the outpost.

there might be some building required, not sure.

But that's assuming that there is already an active, thriving outpost with a tribe you can get fame with. What about all the burnt out ones all over the place?

When I read the manual, it said guilds could hold outposts for missions, but can they hold outposts after the mission is done? I know guilds can have permanent halls in the major cities, so are outposts the same way? I know the outposts would get attacked periodically by mobs, but as long as you defend do you get to keep the outpost? Maybe these answers aren't known since I haven't heard of any guilds taking outposts yet, but any answers or thoughts people have are appreciated.

But many are working on it. It is only a matter of time.

This is where being in a large guild is good. However I think I would still rather be in a smaller one :)

You get the outposts by doing outpost missions. You can either capture the outpost by defeating the npcs there. However this method is harder because if you take the outpost, the tribe you took it from will keep trying to take it back. The other method is doing missions for the tribe that holds the outpost. If you complete the mission(s) you will get control of the outpost. The tribe will then not try to take it back.
