2 year hiatus

Post by hazah »

I tried to install Ryzom about 2 years ago, right before World of Warcraft was released. I had a problem with the patcher program that the tech support people couldn't fix for 2 weeks until my subscription ran out.

My question is does Ryzom still use that infernal DOS looking patcher? Are the free trial download files the same that are on the CD that i bought from the store? I tried to download that .exe but it had some kind of corrupt file error and i don't want to spend another 5 hours downloading the same corrupt file. And i'd rather not waste another 2 week free trial on tech support trying to fix the DOS looking patcher program.

Any advice?

Try using Azureus or Bit Torrent and use the Torrent link. It is a lot more robust when downloading large files.

The latest installer is patched up to the end of September and only requires a small update. The only part that is DOS related is the part that happens when you click 'relaunch'. If you have issues with that then chances are you have deeper issues with your system.

Nevermind, this game isn't worth the headache. Even Horizons is in better shape.
