I just recently downloaded the trial version and am loving it so far. I made my character on Arispotle, (sp?) and was thinking about how there is a new server Cho. To get to my question.. If I have never played the game before, would it be better for me to start out on Cho rather than Arispotle (sp?) ?
Are there going to be ingame events that will take place on Cho that have already taken place on the other server?
Any information and tips would be appreciated. I havn't played my current character very far, but would like to know if I should switch or not prior to playing any further.

Re: Quick Question
I don't have a direct answer to your question, but I can suggest that it is possible to have characters on both servers.
Jelathnia, Kasarinia, KianShi, Maethro, ShuaLi, and OPaxie (Arispotle)

Re: Quick Question
They indicated that Cho would be assumed to be at the same point in the story line as Arispotle, so all of the previous event have already been assumed to have run to completion. New events should be duplicated, but storyline may diverge at some point.ncash02 wrote:I just recently downloaded the trial version and am loving it so far. If I were in your shoes, the question would be this: Do you want to be part of an existing community with crafters and members at all various levels or do you want to be part of a brand new community?

Re: Quick Question
I guess some feedback as to the differences in joining an existing community versus a brand new one would help. On Arispotle will my crafting items generally be sold to the vendor due to so many people already having their crafting maxed? Will it be hard for me to find people around my level to group with? I have been browsing the forums alot and everyone seems really nice and interesting... and from Arispotle. I am at an empass, some one show me the way.. =)oldmess wrote:If I were in your shoes, the question would be this: Do you want to be part of an existing community with crafters and members at all various levels or do you want to be part of a brand new community?

Re: Quick Question
Arispotle has a community filled with people at all various levels. So, if you are mostly a fighter, you'll find someone that can craft equipment for you. If you are a crafter, you'll find people that need your equipment.ncash02 wrote:I guess some feedback as to the differences in joining an existing community versus a brand new one would help. Cho has a brand new community and everyone is a fairly low level. It's faster to level fight skills, so you could find yourself having difficulty getting all of the equipment you need because the crafters haven't caught up. Conversely, if you're a crafter, you should be in high-demand for a while, but it'll calm down to more normal levels like Arispotle over time.
Basically, Cho is more like a frontier in some ways. That means it'll be harder but some might regard it as more rewarding. I'm not sure what to tell you beyond that; hopefully that will help or someone else will have another way to put it that will help you.

Re: Quick Question
My feeling is that you, being new to the game, would be better off on a mature server as opposed to a new one. You'd have experienced players there to help guide you and equipment/material more readily available.
Re: Quick Question
From what I have generally seen in the forums there will be experienced players starting anew on Cho. Assuming they stay with it there will be knowledge there and you'll always have the CSR team to aid as well.
Other points brought up are quite valid, though our stores on Aristople are full of items, typically to get what you want you'll need to know someone or be a crafter. It depends alot on your playing style...

Re: Quick Question
If you join in on Arispotle, you'll be worming your way into a niche along with some very powerful and legendary players. most of the veteran players on arispotle have a loose, yet undeniable bond with one another, and no matter how much Jyudas and Jayce can't get along, theres still something there its a world where legends have been made, and you can join among those legends creating your own legacy - but forever around those who already have theirs.
in Cho, you're starting off with mostly freshly made players - and you'll get to push and shove to form your own legacy. you can come out on top, and be a legend among the new players after you -you will help to join the worlds, get the tp tickets, explore the lands, and decide the storyline which will soon differ from Arispotle's - its a very fresh start (minus the players from arispotle who'll be jumping over for a while.. but i dont honestly think they'll stick for more than a month or so)
so, those are the doors - make your choice

I could give alot of advice... but why don't you see for yourself?
Create a toon on each server, spend a few hours with each on the newbie island to advance them both a bit, then go to mainland.

I agree with Nightblade
And just wish to add that arispotle has a long history that might be more interesting if you wish to RP. On the other hand you can be part of Cho and keep a diary of what happens there and thus be part of a slightly different story.
edit: the famous characters will be different
