Hiyas. Well, I've been reading in various places and seeing people say that you need to be picky with your skills.. I'm not one to follow what other people say exactly, but, I've got no clue as to which skills/stanzas I should train up in. I'm planning to be a little bit of everything, but I want to put the main focus on magic/harvesting for now. So, any advice/help would be appreciated.
By the way, I'm still at RoS. I'm going to subscribe to the game, though.
Thanks
Tekameli
--By the way, not asking for anyone to tell me what exact skills I should get or anything like that. It'd just be nice if I knew in what general direction I should head.

Welcome to Atys, Tekameli
Apart from your Craft Skill Points, you don't really need to be very picky over what you choose to learn. It's generally recommended that you always increase your stats whenever you can, but train Focus and Will at the Forage trainer and Constitution and Metabolism at the Fight trainer.
As a magic user I'd recommend that you learn the Gift range of spells so that you can support your teammates, and suggest that you do not bother with Sleep for awhile. (*cough* I mean the spell )
As a forager, train your melee to use Fight SP to increase your HP so that you can survive the explosions and gas that your digging will cause sooner or later Foraging can be a rather dull experience for a long time, but persevere and the skills you learn will begin to make it, in my opinion, by far the most interesting skill. I'd say this begins about lvl 45-50, by which time you will have developed a wide range of abilities to experiment with, and finding what you want will be much less frustrating than it was at first.

Hi Tekameli
welcome to Atys.
If you learn the skills suggested by the by the tutors at the rangers camp near the Ruins of Silan, you should learn a good mix skills, that are all usable.
The only thing I can say is, to avoid the prospect crafted item skills at the moment, until you feel you don't know what to do with your harvest skill points.
If you don't understand how a skill works, you should consider to ask in region or universal channel, if someone likes to explain it to you. That may safe you from some trouble.
Cheers

Hi Tekameli
As you progress with your harvesting skills, you will soon end up with the health and ground stability bars dropping before you have had time to complete the extraction. At that time it will be wise to get at least the care plan for ground stability (something you use to raise the bar again before you continue the extraction).
Welcome and enjoy your new home
