Keiko's Journey

Post by d29565 »

[OOC] The first two stories I'm posting have already been posted elsewhere. But, I thought it best to have Keiko's stories together in this right section of the RP area. [/OOC]

“I guess they aren’t my friends anymore. I never thought they could turn from me like this. I never thought that my love of flesh would cause such hatred to bloom from my once good Karavan friends.” She understood now, and hated it.

Tears begin to stream down Keiko’s face. But her eyes glowed. They shone with the power of the Gods. Her “friends” may hate her, but the Gods show her favor, show her pity. Keiko’s body began to glow in anger, anger like no other. A sorrowful anger. She’s accepted that she isn’t accepted.
The words stopped with her glow. The insults ceased to exist when the Alliance members saw this strange happening. The strong matisians looked nervous. “What’s going on,” they asked one another, “Why does she look like that?”

Knowledge filled Keiko as she glowed. She stood from her seated spot at the stables of Yrkanis. “You think that what you’ve done, how you’ve acted to a homin that shows kindness to all hasn’t been noticed by the Gods? By your Jena? She may tell you to get rid of the infidels, but I was not such. I was simply someone who wanted to convert a different way. But no more!” Keiko’s words rang out in the silence around her. The tears the fell from her eyes glittered against her moonlight pale skin. “I loved you all as my brothers, sisters, and friends. But, no more. You’ve crushed my heart to pieces and there is no more love for you-”

Keiko stopped suddenly, cocking her head to the side as if listening to something no one else could hear. She then proceeded to nod her head, and looked back to the growing crowd of matisians. “I go now, on a trip to find the truth. So it is said, so mote it be.” Then she faded out, not to be seen again on Atys for many moons to come.

Keiko's Return

Their whispered words brought a smile to her face. She’d been gone long enough. She’d learned what she was meant to learn, and now she was so in touch with what nature had to offer her, that she almost feared the technology that was expanding across Atys.

The breeze quickened and became a wind. It blew the leaves and dust in a little tornado around the woman. She lifted her pale face to the sky, a canopy of trees allowed small rays of sunshine through, making the woman seem ethereal. Her silky black hair lay still to the wind. The wind wasn’t touching her anymore; it was simply forming around her. Her moonlight pale arms were spread wide and she twirled around, a joyous smile on her mouth, and a shine of happiness showed through in her eyes.

The wind died down to almost nothing. The forest stilled. No creature dared to make a sound. He was speaking to her. The woman stood still, a few tears falling upon her cheeks. “Are you sure, ‘milord?” The woman asked.

Whispers rose from everywhere and nowhere in response to her question. The sounds all seemed to say something different, but also said the same thing. If the woman hadn’t heard it before, she surely would have been confused. But she’d listened to the whispers for a while now. She knew what was said, and was not sure of what she had to do.

Tears now flowed freely from her face. “So soon,” she thought sadly. “Already I have to leave the Summerland.” Creatures of the wild came out of their hiding places to say a final goodbye to the only homin they had known in a long time.

The woman kneeled down and put her hands out to the greet the creatures of the wild which had been her companions since her arrival. She would miss them dearly. These creatures had been her friends since her arrival, but now she would have to leave them.

The black haired woman drew strength from her small friends, and prepared herself mentally for the road that lied ahead. She stood up and started walking away from the deep forest. The words spoken to her earlier came to her mind. ‘To leave the forest, is to leave the Summerland. It is time you left, my child. Atys will embrace you, and you will feel my love in all of the nature that surrounds you.’

She made it to the end of the forest. The breeze started up again, and blew her light clothing around. It whispered for a final time to her here on the Summerlands. “Do not look back my child, go forward with the knowledge you have gained, and show it to them. Teach them what love really is.”

“Aye, ‘milord. I am ready to be resurrected.” And Keiko stepped forward, away from the forest into the bright sunlight.

Kami Princess

A matisian woman stood in a clearing in the dense forest of Mullgrove. Her eyes appeared to sparkle in the starlight, and her lithe body was clad in the most enticing armor he had yet seen. How could that tiny bit of armor protect her in battle? The woman’s ivory skin went wonderfully with her black armor. He wanted to walk up to her and take her into his arms, but instead he hid behind a tree because he was more curious as to what she was waiting for.

A shadowy figure appeared, to answer his question. The woman bowed formally, as all Matis are taught to do, then raised herself up-tall, proud. A breeze came then, with whispers he couldn’t understand, then it died, and she looked questioningly at the figure.

“What is it you wish me to report, ‘milord?” The breeze came again with more unintelligible whispers, and again it died. The woman’s expression became sad. “Sir, we’ve found it near impossible to take back your land from the aggressive alliance. Even with help from the Tryker citizens, they are gaining members far faster than we. Jena’s lies are being spread so far.” The last the woman said defeated.

The breeze came, and with it, a sense of courage seemed to fill the man, and as the man watched, it seemed to fill the woman as well.

“Thank you. I apologize for temporarily losing faith in the cause. What is your will then?”

The shadowy figure moved closer, and touched her forehead with its hand. Images seemed to flash in the woman’s eyes, nothing the man could make out though. A tear fell, but she smiled.

The figure stepped back and the woman fell to her knees. She looked up; tears of what had to be joy streaming down her face. “Oh my… I shall forever be your messenger, ‘milord, Ma-Duk.”

The man gasped as realization came to him. Quickly he covered his mouth so as not to make more noise. He’d always fought for the mysterious Ma-Duk, but he had never seen him. Now, this woman was the direct link between the god and the homins.

The figure, now identified, turned to leave. He stopped and seemed to look right into the man. A whisper on the wind came, and this time the man understood what was said.
“Protect the princess.”
