Lonely. And a little lost.

Post by jkarl208 »

I have no idea what I had planned after leaving Ruins of Silan behind me. All I know was that I wanted to explore the real world of Atys.

But I've noticed that it is nothing I can do on my own. And neither can I do it simply by advertising about myself in the regional chat since it's pretty quiet in there. So I think I'll try to do what people tells me to do.

Find a guild to call home and make more friends!

I would really really like to end up in a guild that spends atleast some time on RPing. My playtime is pretty limited though. So a hardcore guild of any sort would be out of the question...
I'm just looking for that nice little home with a bunch of fun people that you can RP with from time to time and of course, explore Atys!

That would be all I think - For now.

Hi Nallie, welcome to the mainland of Atys.

I think you have found the list with all the guilds, saying who does a bit (or more) of rp, and who do not. I dont know which race you are, but for fyros, I would recommend Samsara, for Matis: Phaedrea's Tears and Order of the Dragonblades, for Tryker: Red Ribbon Army, Nexus or Evolution, and for Zorai... i dont know ;) (not meaning that there are no good zorai guilds, meaning i do not know the zorai guilds very well. There are a lot nice zorai players, but i never know what guild they are in...)

Then for exploring, there is really a lot to explore on Atys, but it is not like any other game, where you can just walk safely to most other places. On Atys you will have to learn the way of the mobs, and how to 'sneak' there. There are players who traveled around the world, solo, with a lvl5 character. (It is dangerous, but can be done!)
So you do not really need people to explore, but it might help a lot of you have somebody who can show you some nice spots in the game, and how to get there.

If you need any help, send me a /tell ingame!

Anytime!

Btw, being matis doesnt mean you can only choose a matis guild. Any race can join any guild, only the faction they follow might be important to know. If matis feels more at home in the desert, a fyros guild will surely welcome him. ;)

awwe! The Reaper family might also have room for a bouncy young Matis like yourself.

We don't RP a whole lot but I do know we give help and advice to poor lonely & lost homins. Oh, and "explore" is our middle name. :D

Just to precise that The Samsara is a neutral guild, not a fyros guild, though it's based in Pyr and has many fyros in it.

Anyway, welcome on Ryzom, Nalie.

I'm a newcomer too, so don't hesitate to /tell me if you wish to hunt or anything that you may want do with other "newbs" ;)

Hehe, I tried to contact you today Athkins :P

Been thinking a bit about all that guild thing. And I've met some of the peoples representing some of the guilds above. I like it when people skip the usage of shortenings in IC chat or what I would take as IC chat. Since that makes it hard for me to feel like I'm really in the world.

So I suppose I'm looking for a guild that's acting as if they were a part of this world and that tries to avoid some strange words IC. Such as shortenings and stuff. But then again! I'm not sure if I can manage too heavy RP.. But oh well.. I gotta try something out.

I think I need to hang out more with guilded people to see what they can reflect from there guilds.

Hopefully I'll find a nice home soonish.

Nalie,

May I suggest you contact the Dragonblades if your interested in a more RP oriented view of Atys. We have been considered heavy at times, but I would not consider us rigid by all means. Feel free to stop by our website and see if we are what you may be interested in. You can find answers to various questions about the Dragonblades as well as who to contact if your interested.

Best of luck in finding your new home in Atys.

Don't pigeonhole yourself too soon... Sxar hinted to a very important thing that you may be overlooking in your quest for a guild. Decide how you want to play and express this, unless your RP had no flavor your going to need a way to play your going to follow. Most everyone assumes by the responses you intend to be an RP and Neutral, but you never stated neutrality.

Nothing wrong with being a neutral RPer, but beware folks calling themselves neutral (their version and yours may differ) and ask where they stand and play on certain game aspects. A decision on a guild could be the biggest impact on your game, make your decision a well informed one and not based on the forums

Welcome into Atys Nalie!

As others have said, take your time and fathom out the guilds you're interested in. There are different views what faction membership or neutrality means so find guild with a view that suits your style, but don't hop into first bandwagon that comes rolling around. As I believe you have found out already, most of the people ingame are pretty helpful and decent lot. Sxar gave a pretty good list of the guilds that you might try looking out or contacting, not that there weren't other as good possibilities around.

Ohh, live and learn. During my absence Mr DoubleStandard seem to have become official "Arbiter Neutraelorum" o_O Without any personal agendas or vendettas attached there of course...
