New to this game

Hello...I have just downloaded the free trial and if this game triggers that certain something in me, I will infact pay to play it. What are the advantages of paying to play? Is this gameworld HUGE? Can anyone compare it too Asheron's Call(the first MMORPG I ever played and made me go insane and try every other mmorpg.) I'm sorry for such a noob question but I had to ask. Also, I created a Zorai name Noxacles (Child of Nox, might be Noxcles technically but hey.) Seeya all in the game

Well paying = access to mainland basicly... ALOT more land, many more interesting places/mobs/people to see etc... (higher levels)

Don't know much about your previous game I'm afraid but I'd say its pretty damn big.

Compared to Asheron's Call this game is simply HUUUUGE.
Which it is compared to most games out there.
Game play of ryzom is smooth, customer service amasing.
And gameplay, well. You just gotta do it yourself and try it out.

I played asheron's call for about 1 month.
I am playing this full time.

Welcome to Atys then

Just come over and try for yourself. It´s best to stay on the Starter Island and do the Tutorial Missions and then decide for yourself if you´re willing to pay a month fee to come over and "try" the Mainland for a month.
Because the Mainland Game experience differs in some ways from that of the Starter Island.
First, there are no more "Quest", realy just Missions you´d be able to repeat and gain fame with one of the two factions. (You may choose wichever you like best.)
Appartently "less players" because they´re sprad all over the realy huge world, so it might just be that you don´t encounter masses of players right up front comming to the Mainland.
Best thing to do is, try and find a guild to your liking.
Don´t accept just the first offer to join, considder what you want and what they want. Timezones should also be an issue

Basically it´s still the same over here then on Silan, just do what you want

First things first... Welcome to Atys

On to why I type here:
How big is Atys? That question has been asked several times already, back in beta there was even a picture comparing Atys to some other well known MMOs...
I have no idea where that one was buried, but I have the link to a similar picture at hand, here it is.
To bring those figures back to relevance, Atys is larger than SWG's territory is (was? dunno if the last few "additions" changed its landmass...).

AC and SoR are not comparable, however... Don't judge for yourself only by the size of the territories (D'n'L is the worst piece of MMO software developed in the last decade - size is not everything.)
