Getting Ready For The Mainland Questions.

Post by bucketa »

I recently down loaded the game and started one character(Matis) and have reached level 35 in fighter. I'm almost finished with all the quests and have started to get familiar with creating my own actions. The game seems interesting and I definately will be going to the mainland soon.

My questions:

Apartments, Storage, Starter Cities:

1.) How many characters will thansfer to the mainland? If I develop 1 character of each race will that will allow me to have 4 apartments, 1 in each starter city? I think I read somewhere that you need to be a certain level to get an apartment. Is this true and what level?

2.) Assuming that question #1 is true .... will I then be able to access the apartments with all of my characters?

The reason that I want to do this is to increase my storage space for my main character, so I don't have to travel as far when I need to offload materials, weapons, armor, etc.... Another reason for doing this would be to give access to the apartments for friends to drop off/pick up materials or weapons.

3.) Is this a good idea or would I just be wasting time developing 4 characters to level XX on Noob Island?

NPE Quest Question:

1.) Where can I find an Ocyx to kill for quest 3 from the Kami and Karavan?

Thanks in advance for the advice........

Hi and welcome.

Nope, each charakter has it´s own Appartment. You may, with the help of others, move Itmes from one Char to the other. For you can not be online with two or more at once.

Every charakter has to go through the Silan Missions to come to the Mainland, et least the first and the last ;)
So you may have low levle Alts as "packers" on the Mainland but sadly atm only the owning charakter can enter an Appartment.
But someday it´ll hopefully be fixed so that we can invite people. ;)

So you can develop 4 chars, but you don´t "need" to.

Storage in Mounts and Apaprtment is usualy enough for one person alone, if you clean up regularily. :p

Ocyx are roaming tho "blight" area, wich is goo infested.

Acridiel

Edit: Ahyes. NO level restirction there.
Edit II : Yes, a One Man Guild my increase storage. But is seldom relay needed IMHO. What use are old Mats or Itmes just lying around and blocking space if you can have new onces by asking niecely ;)

What Acri said about apartments is true... but if you make a guild and buy a guild hall... all your players in guild regardless of race can access the GH. HO/GL can remove items, all can add items.

I am unaware of a level restriction, I got an apartment shortly after getting to the mainland... but it costs 1 million dappers.

I am not sure, actually, if you can transfer between your own characters in an apartment. I am still new myself, so I am not the best person to answer this one for you. :)

As for storage space for your character... you can get pack animals to store your things, and stick them in stables in various villages. They start at around 117k dappers or so, and there are numerous upgrades. I've only been on the mainland for about a week or so, and my work schedule this week has been a little more hectic than I would like so I haven't read up enough to be of more help.

Well, if you plan on playing any of those characters on mainland, it certainly does help to do the quest lines for the equipment. Other than that... a more veteran player will have to answer this for you.

But, at the very least, welcome to Ryzom ;)

Thanks to all for the quick responses......

I think I will develop at least 2 characters on Noob Island hoping that someday we will be able to grant admin access to other characters apartments. I had 3 houses in SWG and managed to still run out of storage space occasionally.

I will look again for the Ocyx in the goo, I've been all around it but haven't seen an Ocyx yet. I guess it's time to get my feet gooey.

Remember that even though there are four races and capital cities, any one of them can go to any of the other's cities. So one character can see it all. You don't need multiple characters to see all the sights.

Apartments cost 1 million each, and can only be built in the capital cities (grr, I still want to live in Natae :) ). But you can buy pack animals and stash them in towns all over if you want. When you teleport to a remote spot, though, your pack animal stays, it does not port with you.

I think you will have to go the Guild House route to let friends access your stuff.

It seems like having pack animals stored all over the place would be hard to keep track of. If they don't teleport with you and you leave stuff stored on them is there a way to locate them again, or see the inventory from a remote location. For example... if im in my starter city and have a pack animal in another city do I have to travel to the pack animal to see what it has stored on it? Or does it show up in my inventory but is just not accessible until I travel back to that location?

You can see the inventory, you just cannot access it except in the stable it is housed. I'm notsure but I believe the exception is Pyr- Since there are two stables you should be able to access your animal in either.

Whoa, okay welcome Hamster :D

Ocyx are those bonewhite, firebreathing fourleged beasts with their Giger-esque Big Bad Black Boss the "dominant Ocyx". :D

Pyr has three stables, North, South, and East. But last time I checked you had to be at the exact stable in which the animal was "parked" in order to access its inventory.
