Dead end in game mechanics

While it's pretty tedious for an individual to change faction, for an old guild is plain impossible.
When we voted to go kami we purged all guild down to some 25 active members. Kicking alts and inactive members was pretty hurting for me.
Then we all went about 50 fame. The guild fame still stayed at about 10. We did missions for about 2 months and still nothing changed. Only thing that helped was attacking a temple.
Now temple guards can attack you but they cannot be targetted for aggression anymore.
Think about a real old guild: you must have like 200-300 members with max 40 active. Lots of the inactive members are lost forever, but also a good part are people who migth come back, old friends. You do not want to kick them same as you would do with an exploiter or a griefer.
And even if you do that there is probably a community work for 3-4 month to get guild fame at 30. Some people are more committed, some are less, it's a game after all and - in the few hours you have after job to get in game and do some things you like - maybe you wouldn't enjoy every day, for several months, go and kill poor NPCs in their villages, imagine yourself as a mechanic repetitive mercenary who constantly goes in same small communities killing warriors, wives, kids.
It's simply not feasible.
So, in short, any old enough guild once they chose a faction are completely stuck with it forever.
There are a lot of things that are just not ment to be easy in game, and I am happy that's the way it goes. You shouldn't be uber 10 masters only by mindlessly killing same mobs for a week. But this one is an issue because it's not ment to be hard, it's plain impossible unless you severly hurt your community or leave it alltogether.
Of course it would be awesome if faction misions would be revamped the manner the NPE area missions are conceived, but even midway solutions would be acceptable. An idea would be to make all officers, HOs and GL 30 fame in the desired faction then all vote for change. Later on they can work their guild fame to a better level if they want it. Another one could be base it on top end missions: kill very very hard mobs that only guild effort can take out.
We are now like 7 months after the OPs patch. Community is once again balanced. Most of us have a much clearer perspective on politics, power balance, usefullness of resources. But guilds choices were made 7 months ago, when nobody was sure of most information, when further developpment was not clear, nor general alliances, or manner of conceiving each guild's general strategy.
Once again I don't mean it shouldn't be hard (guild shouldn't be able to change factions like handkerchieves), it just shouldn't be impossible.
P.S. We don't want to change faction, don't worry ,)
