I've noticed that when I start a new alt, for the first few special attacks (ie. increase damage), I can hear them grunt, etc. Then it either becomes very weak, and hard to hear, or I don't hear them making any sounds.
- I tried changing my sound acceleration in windows, and nothing changed.
- I tried restarting the client, nothing happened.
- I tried turning the in-game volume down to nothing, applying the settings, and changing it back. Still nothing.
- I tried disabling EAX and software buffer, each separately, then at the same time. Still nothing.
- I've got the newest drivers for my on-board sound, and every other game I have works fine.
What else can I do to hear the character sounds? Is there a way to change the sound config in the game? Like from EAX to Miles 2D positional, etc.? I can hear other people's characters making grunts, but not my own character. I know some people might wonder why I want to hear it, as it will most likely get annoying after a while. It simply adds to the immersion for me. A character that runs around not making any sounds isn't very realistic at all.

Another thing I noticed was that my character doesn't always do the animations for emotes when he's equipped with his sword and shield. When he's wearing the amps though, he does the animations. Is this a bug as well? Is it tied to melee weapons, or could it simply be the specific weapons I'm using? Does typing /wave usually work, where the emote menu doesn't?
Any help would be appreciated. These things aren't game-breaking, but they sure are annoying from my perspective.

Ohhhhh I envy you! I hope you figure out why you can't hear character sounds, so I'll be able to reproduce it. I hate those sounds.

lol Jelathnia... I only hear noises from other characters, never my own
Re: Battle sounds and emotes bug?
I think the sounds are limited by the amount of channels available/open. If you have music on and such it can only play so many items at once. It does act a bit wonky at times but Eax works well and you generally get the full sound.

Re: Battle sounds and emotes bug?
I sometimes hear the 'battle' sounds of my char, when using Increase Damage for example. I never heared the sounds my char makes as a effect of an emote.

I never hear my own characters noises, but always hear everyone elses. I'm set to max channels (16 or 32 I think).

I also do not hear my character noises. As matter of fact, I had to ask about the other character noises I kept hearing as I never make any myself. According to my party members, I do make those sounds and they can hear them, but I cannot.
In the end I just figured that if nothing else, not making character noises when I fight will help me in my ninja career, should I choose it.
