Problem with relauching please help

Post by zath06 »

I downloaded the game last night and i am using a trial account currently. I installed the game and patched it then i was asked to relaunch the game. I pressed relaunch and the game froze. This error came up:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error
Program: C:\program files\ryzom\client_ryzom_rd.exe
abnormal program termination

Crashing like that can be caused by a number of things:

- viruses/spyware
--- thoroughly scan your system with an updated virus scanner AND a spyware scanner

- improperly installed graphics drivers
--- cleanly reinstall your video drivers by making sure that you have official drivers (not beta, tweaked or omega) downloaded, removing the current drivers, rebooting, ignoring the 'found hardware' messages and running the video installer

- a faulty RAM module
--- go to http://www.memtest.org and download one of the memtest apps and scan your memory for flaws

- CPU/GPU overheating
--- make sure that your system is free from dust and that all fans rotate smoothly. Also ensure that the system has adequate space around it for airflow

does it crash before you enter user and pwd? if so the following probably not helpful but you could try:

run the config and force opengl, put all settings to minimum, turn off sound
also do you have directX 8 (i think it only needs 8)

grab Klients as well and chat to people there

im not a computer person, i have no idea what a log.log file or diagnostic output is. Rushin it happens after the game patches, so yes i already logged in.

Since it happens after the game logs in then chances are that you have video driver problems.
What video card and driver do you have?

my video card is a Nvidia geforce 6800 and the driver is:
driver provider: nvidia
driver date: 7/8/2005
driver version: 7.7.7.4
digital signer: Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Publisher

hopefully that is the information that you're looking for.
also from dxdiag:

main driver: nv4_disp.dll
version: 6.14.0010.7774

When I run dxdiag there's a button to "Save All Information...". I think this might be one of the files Zerlin asked for above, so try saving that and emailing it on. Could the log.log file he also asked for be the log.txt file found in the Saga of Ryzom folder? Try emailing that one too.
