Woo hoo! I'm in PYR...Pyr...pyr...*echo*

Post by velosi »

I subbed last week, a few days before heading over to the mainland, because SoR is in many ways (that I won't go into in this post) superior to most/all other MMORPGs I have played (including a list I also won't go into in this post)

After putting enough HA on the market in NPE to make sure I had 1,000,000 dappers when it all sold...I took the leap of faith and ported over to the mainland!!

Whee! I'm here! But...where is everyone??

Figuring if I went out & about, exploring, I'd run into some friendly (or maybe not so friendly) homins to interact with. I found swarms of baddies, got found by packs of Gingos, saw a few new critters, bought tons of >50 mats...

....but where are the people??

In the past 4 or 5 days, I have rediscovered how quickly I become bored solo grinding. I did the AmberCube mish, got rewarded another Cube for...something I did (it wasnt specified as a "Rite"(?) when I got the mission *shrugs*)...but I now I feel...

...isolated, lonely & rather directionless.

Even typing those words makes me want to slap myself & say "suck it up soldier. Rub some dirt in it, drop & give me 50, run it off" and other assorted "dont be a whiny #$%^" sort of things.

Yeah, so anyways (I tend to ramble)...I'm just wondering if there are other places where I might find Homins to frolic & play in the sand with, cause Pyr and its surrounding area is seeming more & more like a reallllllly big prison solitary confinment, every time I log on.

Timezone can be an issue, which one are you in?

Otherwise the new refugees are usually around the stable outside Cerakos gate, or in the lowmarket training/trading. Otherwise a trek to Dyron should land you in some company.

Sandaara spends a lot of time in Pyr most of the time, though I have been in Thesos a lot lately. Thesos is fine for harvesting (which I have been doing a lot) but is way too high a level area for Sandy to hunt in.

I've been mostly away from Pyr this week, because my regular machine is on the blink and until I get a replacement part (due Wed) I am stuck on my dinosaur of a backup machine (1 GHz, 512 RAM, ouch). I can't really fight on this system because of the lag and video chop (there's not much chop harvesting, and if there were, it's not a big deal -- but it is when trying to fight something that can kill ya).

Once I get my computer fixed (assuming the replacement part works and fixes the problem and all) I should be back in Pyr, and I know at least a few members of my guild who have been around Pyr a lot lately too. It may depend on time of day.

But your best bet is to ask in "Regional". I bet there are lots of people around Pyr (I almost always see blue dots on my radar when hunting or harvesting around the city), and if you ask for a hunting group or a foraging group I bet you can find one pretty easily.

Remember, there are more people (total) on the mainland, but the mainland is huge -- it's like 10 silans put together (if not more). So people are more spread out. But regional chat still can keep us in touch.

You might want to join a guild, that usually helps to feel less lonely. :)

List of Guilds
Jelathnia, Kasarinia, KianShi, Maethro, ShuaLi, and OPaxie (Arispotle)
TeiJeng (Leanon)

MST or MDT? I'm in Mountain Time also (MDT currently) and play weird hours also (early to mid afternoon between jobs, occasional Sunday, occasional late night).

Lots of folks head out from Pyr west to Oflovak's Oasis if they are in the 50-100 level, or on to Frahar Towers for 100-150 level stuff.

Many hang around Dyron (easy trek from Pyr once you "know the way"), its the center of activity/meeting up place for lots of folks.

Ok...Dyron trip it is, then. Never realise how much you like people...till they are all gone! LOL

Mountain Time, yes.

I want to make a guild myself..."Thorns of Ayts" (copyright, so no one can steal it ;-) ...but making a guild with only me in it kinda foils my objective, huh? :D
