Question: Can buy CD unlock key online ??

My girlfriend and I have been wanting to play this game, but only found 1 copy at the store. Was wondering, can the same copy be installed on 2 PC's and for the second account buy a CD unlock key online ?? The first account obviously used the one included witht the box to activate the game. Thanks.
