Wondering about the trial

I played the game way back in beta, and liked it; however, after 2 months live, I realized money was running a little short, so I quit. Now I am running into the same problem...so I was wondering if the trial (the link on the main page, not sure if it is one week or two) converts automatically to a paying account, and, if so, how I would quit the trial (for now) before having to pay. I will possibly be back when I find a job again, but, as I say, money is a little tight right now. Anyone know? Or does the game not let you log in after one week or two, depending on trial length, and after that time period, doesn't charge you until you sign up with a paying account?

The trial is unlimited. As long as you stay on the starter island, you won't have to pay But you won't be able to leave the island either.
