Downloaded client wont install

hi
i just finished downloading this game and ive been looking forward to trying it out but im having a problem.

When i try to run the client installer it does nuthing gives me no error message and locks up my pc and the only way to stop it is to manualy shut down my pc with the power button.

i have windows 2000 and over a gig of ram and a radeon 9800 series graphics card.

i dont know what i can do to get this game to install.

You can use WinRAR to open and test the installer file to see if it downloaded properly. If the archive is corrupt and you haven't done so already, you may want to try getting the BitTorrent version of the download http://www.ryzom.com/newcomer/game-download#torrent

Your antivirus software may be locking up when the self extracting process starts so you may want to disable it while installing/patching.

You may also want to check things out on http://consumer.installshield.com/common.asp

Make sure that you are on an administrative account when installing/patching/running the game.
