checksums do not correspond

Post by ballz01 »

This is what I see in the Ryzom window everytime I start it. It does some checking of or for a patch, some files are scanned, I see checksums do not correspond. The game then wants to do a relaunch. After 10 or so relaunches, I gave up.

So, will I get to try this game, or should I just delete it?

Wow, this sounds more for something in the technical forums then the newcomers one. And to be honest, I dont have a clue to answer!

You might check out Klients, the out-of game support tool as well.
You can get it here: http://www.ryzom.com/support.

Hope that helps a bit.

Edit: and I think the game is worth to check it out!

To get around the patch situation then download the fully patched installer that was posted 2 days ago. That won't help you when the next game patch comes along though.

If that is the one that you are using then I would seriously look in depth at your system. Check for viruses/spyware, do a harddisk check , make sure the network is clean, makes sure all fans/fins are dust free and not blocked, and possibly even disable hard disk caching.

You can force a repatch by deleting the UNPACK folder. But it really sounds like something is corrupting the data as it gets downloaded.

Thanks for the aid. I downloaded the installer today, right before I installed the game. I'll reinstall it and hope for the best. My system is totally spyware and virus free.

Downloading Ryzom via the torrent is often a "cleaner" route of getting it, less subject to corruption.

It seems I won't be joining you all in the game. EVERYTIME when applying the patch, files checksums do not correspond. I can download the game fine, install it fine, but no playing. I thought the current installer available for download was current, yet Ryzom tries to apply some small patch. BitTorrent download or not, I'm not wasting anymore time on this. Thanks for all the help. I have deleted the unpack folder many times, but the same checksums do not apply happens.

I am having the same problem with the game installed on a computer that I am running Windows Vista beta 2 on. I don't have this problem on my laptop or my main desktop that both run Windows XP. Are you by any chance trying to run the game in Windows Vista?

I'm crashing right after the patch / file checks also. And I'm also running Vista Beta 2. Anyone successfully playing Ryzom on this OS yet?

I had a bit of fun getting the 6 July patch to install, but prior to and now SoR works fine with Vista.

I am getting the following error on vista beta 2

Access Violation exception generated at 0x69752267, thread attempts to write at 0xB0.
The thread attempted to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access.

Any ideas? The game works fine on my xp rig.
