I have been victim to very frequent game crashes, rubberbanding. I can understand some lag issues, and that would be fine, but I am constantly finding myself restarting the game after a crash. I have reviewed all the info in forums and I do NOT have a Linksys router.
Has there been ANY official word on whether there will be a USA Resident Gameserver, or will there only be a European serverset?
I am hoping to hear some direct information regarding the connection issue as my support $ will depend on it. It is simple. I love the game and I simply cannot play it in a normal manner without frequent disconnects. This is not a negative ranting in hopes it speeds a response, it is designed to state my current experience. I am open to any suggestions as to what to try, but am looking mostly for Official Recognition of the issues we face on the Windermeer Server and progress updates... I know it takes time to address and test, we all will understand that... but what IS recognized, and what IS being done to address it??
Frequent disconnects - Is a US resident server in the works?
Re: Frequent disconnects - Is a US resident server in the works?
I dont mean to degrade your post in any way. I do want to provide some more input. I play on a dsl modem with a linksys router. The rubberbanding issue is not the result of your network connection. I have very little lag ... 1 hiccup an hour or so if that. I do not get disconnected .. ever unless the server drops or my isp goes down which hasnt happened.
I do not know what others are using ... I run an AMD 64 with 2Gig of Ram. An ATI Radeon 9800XT.
I havent had any of the problems listed anywhere with the ATI or the Linksys. Good fortune? I dont know.

Do you use a firewall? Do you use Windows XP? With SP2? With the firewall, you will have to tweak it so that the game has all ports open and never ask you for Internet connection. Windows XP filters Internet connections as well, and it's worse with SP2. You will have to tweak it as well, just like with the firewall, to open all the ports.
Re: Frequent disconnects - Is a US resident server in the works?
I do NOT use a firewall, I am on a simple home network with a D-Link Di-604 (very faithful) router.
I have both DMZ'd and not, I have opened the appropriate trigger ports and public settings.
My game crashes instantly about 50% of the time, and as a result of a lost connection for the remaining. I have sent all my info to Tech Support so they can use the data in determining the source for a fix. Pressing "N" in game brings up the network connection window.. I can watch ping Peg at 3000+ when this occurs, my network bandwidth is less than 10%.
A side note: I have nothing but sytem processes running on a clean install of WindowsXP Pro, I do NOT use the firewall and I do not have anti-virus software even installed on my gaming partition.
