Ryzom doesn't Launch

Hi all,

I've downloaded the 7 day trial and ran the install. When I try to launch the game using the icon placed on my desktop, nothing ever happens. Not even the splash screen. When I check in Windows task manager, however, I see that client_ryzom_rd.exe is running. What gives? How do I get this game to start?

I should note that I've installed the client on 2 separate computers, with the same result.

First, welcome on Atys, this great Planet!
I play now for nearly 2 Years, but since 2 or 3 Days i have the same problem! I think there is a problem because they changed something with the client.
For several days i installed the pre_live and now this!

I change in task manager the priority in high and wait some minutes...perhaps you must start the game exe twice...i really dont know..i do so!
And some minutes later the game starts! I know...its a damn bug...but i hope he will get fixed soon!

Pre_live and ryzom_live are completely different things. If your not signed up you will not get into that server.

If your game is loading, but not progressing... there is a good chance that you have a router/security issue stopping it. Look on the website and get the "Klients" package installed. From there Zerlin or another member of the CSR team can give you guidance to help you troubleshoot and get you going.

I was talking to sleon71 in klients. Ryzom works at home but not at work. At work he has an MS ISA firewall causing issues.

As to pre_live and this happening, it is probably due to firewall/security as the pre_live shard has different IP addresses associated with it than the live shard. Some firewalls cannot handle one application trying to access different server IP locations. This may also happene after a patch as Nevrax switches between sets of server IPs for thew live shard.
