SWG Exile and the 7 day trial

I posted this in the general forum, and should have here.

Found this game via the SWG forums. I quit SWG after 2 1/2 years, and looking for a new game to tide me over until Vanguard or if/when the SWG EMU is done. Or this could become my permanent home. I guess it all depends.

Just looking for any advice from some former SWG players, and some insight on creature handling, if there is any.

Unfortunately we can't tame animals very well here. We have some Mektoubs to use as mounts and packers, but take the Yubo - they were made as pets but now they got wild! Mostly we scare animals, not really taming them but its useful at times.

I just wish I could train up a few frippos.

Okay...the OP sounds a lot like me. I too played SWG from beta until last November's release of the NGE. I also am anticipating Vanguard and I stumbled upon Ryzom today while visiting mmorpg.com.

Hopefully you folks don't mind me asking a couple questions here. I have only been on the forums for about ten minutes, so my knowledge is VERY limited.

I love to RP and haven't found any really since SWG. Are there multiple servers in this game, and if so, are some more RP friendly than others? What kind of player population is there? I did glance at the guild listing and I see there aren't many there.

If anyone could help point me in the right direction, especially where I can find some good RP, I'd appreciate it...my client download should be done in about two hours.

There are 3 main servers one for English, one for German, one for French. Then there is ATS Atys Test Shard... How you want to interact with PC's is really upto the guild you choose. ( http://ryzom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22171 which you commented on doesnt have all of them.) If you pick English the server you will be on is Arispotle.

Pretty much you need to decide what race you want to be then if you want to be Kami, Karavaneer, or Neutral for pvp.

When I started I picked Zorai just cause its the one that appealed to me most on the site. But it really has no bearing. Pick what you want.

When you get in the game to main island. Wait to join a guild until you decide your stance on PVP. When I joined I got many different views from neut/kam/kar you will get many invites take your time and decide.

Welcome. I recommend joining a High-RP guild.

One thing from SWG that you wont run into here is the need in SWG to give up skill sets in order to make room for new skill sets.

In this game, you really can do anything. It'd take just short of forever but once you learn something you've learned it and can always use it.
